Air horn - I have an EcoBlast air horn that has a Schrader value on the bottom. Can quickly fill with a bike pump or air compressor. It is LOUD.

Not sure an inattentive PB pilot would hear over engines, but it's easy to take on the water.

Good advice bringing an air horn.  I have a few of them including an electric one.  I'm thinking of bringing a laser pointer next time I launch pre-dawn.

The one I have i found floating off the Marin coast

Impressively loud and probably designed to break through engine noise

No matter how fucked up things are do your very best to stay positive. That is by far the best medicine.
Do that and you got this.
You will be back in the saddle in no time.

I recommend this strongly, it is a live saver and it should be practiced so the instinct will kick in automatically.  I have a feeling having an air horn would've not helped me on my case.  I saw pics of my kayak, it had propeller marks, the braces for the seats are broken, the aluminum motor mount behind the seat (see my post on motor mount for hobie 2019+ outback) were marked which I believe were contact with propeller.  I am in pretty bad shape now, but it could've ended much worse.  Still shaking when I see the pics.

I don't know you either, but wishing you the best in your recovery. Hope you've lawyered up. That guy is going to lose his boat, and a lot more besides that.

Yes, absolutley.   I will do a write up in due time.  It would be a shame that this happened and there is no lesson learned.  I will definitely make that happen.  Recovery has been difficult and painfull, but I am determined to be able to walk again and go through all the darkness.

Also, I could use some help, but I will make a separate post for that.  Thank you for everyone's support, I will do my best to keep everybody updated.
