Now that you know that, why area you still wearing a mask, if you don’t have CoVid symptoms?

I guess there have never been more infectious disease experts in this country as there are now. Usually, when you can't figure out the causation for a reality, it's the path of least resistance or most organic flow, not a conspiracy....

Covid vaccines are not 100 percent effective but they offer a very good prospect of keeping covid from becoming as deadly as it could .

I offer a little different perspective from yours. Side effects aside, I see the vaccines as effective for what they are intended to do. The problem is in what they are intended to do was not/is not effectively communicated, for whatever reason.

As a reminder, Pfizer’s, Moderna’s, and J&J’s papers filed with the FDA all indicate their respective vaccines are not intended to prevent viral infection, nor will they prevent disease from viral infection, nor were they tested to see if they prevent the spread of the virus. The manufacturer's own data on the trials for all three vaccines shows there is no statistical difference in deaths – the vaccines do not reduce CoVid deaths. Nor do they reduce serious illness. Nor do they reduce moderate illness. They do, however, reduce mild illness. And they do allow the spread of the virus.

Currently, 38% of Omicron infections are fully vax'd people getting the virus form other fully vax'd people. It is families that are fully vax'd sharing the virus amongst other family members.
If this were true then there is very little point of getting the vaccine. However the vast majority of the infectious disease experts that I am aware of say that the vaccine reduces the chances of death and lessens the severity of an infection.

Did you read the Dunning-Kruger effect link? We are talking about a majority of experts who spend their lives in the subject and then have people who do at most 10 hours of reading online sources. Many of these sources ask you to donate on their website almost immediately... The DK Effect hits this thread on the head.

So anyone who is not a boots on the ground scientist in the field of vaccines and infectious disease can study their faces off to discern who is telling the truth?  Who is eligible to have any wisdom in this field?  Unless you cannot answer the cancel question of, “Well, are you a scientist?”, in two very cultic religions, Covid or Climate, you pick, one has no standing and is deemed a conspiracy theorist?  If you follow the money on both ends, one writer needs independent funding to maintain their work effort and maintain visibility on the web with increasing censorship, and the other money trail leads to big pharma, unless I’m wrong, which is probably the case if Dunning is a “true” psychology.  I doubt big pharma and conflicting science + money cares about the individual and their family or knows how to care for each family.  Stay in the dialogue and know your motive, I do not care to persuade anyone to my “opinion” as I observe an America that is no more in such a short amount of time, 700 days and so much fear…pressing post with hesitation yet freedom still reigns…thank you veterans… :smt006

Theres obviously a lot to parse out here.  The response of the governments of the world to the covid-19 pandemic are ripe for criticism and scrutiny.  Following the money and comparing to climate change doesn't really move the ball forward when we are talking about the efficacy of vaccines.  The efficacy of vaccines is actually measurable.

From Washington state this morning:

https://www.doh.wa.gov/Portals/1/Documents/1600/coronavirus/data-tables/421-010-CasesInNotFullyVaccinated.pdf

COVID-19 Cases, Hospitalizations, and Deaths by Vaccination Status
January 12, 2022
Summary
Unvaccinated 12-34 year-olds in Washington are
• 3 times more likely to get COVID-19 compared with fully vaccinated 12-34 year-olds.
• 8 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 compared with fully vaccinated 12-34 yearolds.
Unvaccinated 35-64 year-olds are
• 4 times more likely to get COVID-19 compared with fully vaccinated 35-64 year-olds.
• 11 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 compared with fully vaccinated 35-64 yearolds.
Unvaccinated 65+ year-olds are
• 6 times more likely to get COVID-19 compared with fully vaccinated 65+ year-olds.
• 11 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 compared with fully vaccinated 65+ yearolds.
• 15 times more likely to die of COVID-19 compared with fully vaccinated 65+ year-olds.

This is in line with other compiled data, it's just the most recent one I found while reading my morning news.  I acknowledge that correlation does not imply causation, but these numbers should be eye opening.  If vaccination status alone doesn't account for the wildly different outcomes, then what does?

Covid 19 vaccinations is a numbers game, and the numbers tell a compelling story - get vaccinated.  Everything else is noise.

Welcome to capitalism. It has inherent flaws if unregulated.

In short, I don't trust anyone except scientists, yes. I am also skeptical of anyone who asks for donations or people who promote single controversial figures for pod casts, etc. There is huge financial motive in the outrage machine.

And ironic you brought up veterans. Look at our experience with the military industrial complex and the last 50 years hitting a parallel, especially since 2001. And I say that as a combat infantryman who spent a year fighting in the Kunar Province of Afghanistan - not some anti war hippy.

Just to be clear, unvaccinated folks are dying at a higher rate than vaccinated folks. Here are the stats for most of the countries keeping track. Maybe they’re all consipring together? Hahaha :-)
Sure, there are probably other factors that contribute to this discrepancy btwn death rates & unvaccinated folks though…the same segment of American society who refuse to accept science/math/facts is generally uneducated and succeptible to other comorbidities like obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and respiratory infections. They are also stubborn; it’s the American way.

Not to mention all the people that have stood on that same hill claiming that vaccinations are BS that have died from COVID: https://newsone.com/playlist/famous-anti-vaxxers-who-have-died-from-covid-19/

Even though they were firm in their beliefs, and preached about it to anyone that would hear them, they died a sad and lonely death from a virus that doesn't give 2 shits about your political views.  The virus is indiscriminate, crosses all boundary lines with ease, and if you wait until it's too late to receive the help that might save your life your just playing the odds and gambling your own life.

Good morning!

Interesting. Just saying...

Fred "True" Trujillo

Didn’t know there was a name for such an effect, the Dunning-Kruger effect. I am presuming your post was directed at my sharing of CoVid information. I’ll respond as if it was.

1 - did you read the link you posted? A quick definition from your link: as compared with their more competent peers, “incompetent individuals…will dramatically overestimate their ability and performance relative to objective criteria”. Then, in the next paragraph, “Dunning and Kruger emphasized that the effect they had identified does not imply that people always overestimate their own knowledge or competence.” Did you catch that last sentence? Oops!

However, your diagnosing of someone experiencing the Dunning-Kruger effect would appear to be reflective … it seems to have out'ed YOU as a person overestimating their abilities … diagnosing a psychological effect. Maybe you are someone experience the Dunning-Kruger effect. Just saying.

As for me, I am merely sharing information and the external sources of that information. I am not claiming to be the source. Not a lot of “ability” in any of what I am doing. You don’t post much. You’ve been a member here since Nov 2011 but only posted 27 times. Maybe you are posting too much. You might want to slow it down, Fred.

Also, Fred is not in California and doesn't post here often but is very active in our sister site NWKA and has been for over a decade.   Not that that matters, but you're an idiot on that front too.

Good morning!

(drags gasoline can)...

This is also putting gasoline on the fire.  This site makes me sad and sick, but it's what happens if you listen to the wrong source for information: https://www.sorryantivaxxer.com/ Have people not seen the tv interviews of people saying how they thought it was all a hoax until they contracted the virus and were on their death beds trying with their last few days trying to convince others to take the vaccine for their own health?  all of these things made me terribly depressed the last couple years, thinking of fools deaths that could be prevented. I don't celebrate foolishness, it just makes me sad.
