Update on RCG/Lings opening day??

Should be released Monday on the DFW site. But it all got approved saw it for my own two eyes at the Fred Hall show from a DFG officer on there copy of a email that was printed stating the regs.

Same as 2014, or did the early RCG opener, 3-ling deal become a reality? Replies in no way make you liable

Well, not liable this picture was taken yesterday at the DFW booth of the info that they shared when we asked if any updates.

Was a couple pages of info, but yes, three lings, April 1st for the appropriate area the 5 black rockfish does apply. Also the northern times are in the image as well.

The suspense is killing me. Everything reliable is saying April 1 3 lings and 5 blacks. I wish they would just post it already

Its gonna be tough to get limits in SMC now ken  Either way it sucks that they have to limit them with 5 since theres abundance of them.

Whatever the date is, inevitably some kayak angler gets into trouble and has to be rescued on the RCG opener. Last year there were several. In 2010, a kayak angler lost his life. http://blog.sfgate.com/stew/2010/05/04/big-sur-coast-searched-for-missing-kayaker/ Etienne and I had driven down to sur that day the kayaker was lost and decided not to launch. We had a nice breakfast and drove home. I love the salt as much as anyone but the ocean is unforgiving. At the core of all of the unfortunate incidents is poor judgement and sometimes lack of skills/equipment. So before you launch your kayak into marginal WX and shark infested waters ask yourself whether that big ling cod or halibut is really worth your life.
