Any place to find out the weight difference of the between the 4x and 5x HDI head units? Seems like a pretty good deal on the 5x at cabelas

Very minimal.  What's the reason for questioning the weight difference?

Sounds like some great deals! I have an old cuda 242 and I want to upgrade to something that isnt a piece of junk but i dont need chartplotting and or gps, just a good functional fishing tool. I fish inshore salt (Tomales Bay and lakes) Nothing super deep. What do you recommend? Thanks David

The Elite3x is a small, color screen unit with 83/200 transducer (fishfinder only, no GPS) for $100.  Another would be an Elite 5x if you want a lsrker screen.  Any of the Elite series with an 'x' in it is fishfinder only.

Put some serious thought into a combo ff/GPS unit.  Well worth it and there is some great deals now on the Elite 4 HDI unit!  That would be my first choice for what you describe, location wise.

Chart plotter is priceless in my opinion. Mark those reefs, schools of baitfish, structure, etc and hit them again each drift...

It's not just about getting home safely in the fog, it's about catching more fish.
