Im not sure whether to go with the 5HDI vs CHIRP....who can help me on this? I fish fresh water, but plan on the salt soon.

Most likely won't find a lot of deals on CHIRP models since it is the "new" unit & it recently took a $100 MSRP price drop a couple weeks before 'Black Friday'.

Just did a quick search & still seeing the Elite 5 CHIRP w/ transducer over $500.  The main issue you will find is that this unit still falls under 'Manufacture Advertised Price' and not a "free for all" to Sellat any price they choose, for now.

The best deal is still the Elite 5 HDI w/ 50/200 HDI transducer.

I GOT CHIRP... $$$ but can't wait to use it. pre ordered, waiting... rumors shipping on 9th...
