Last weekend, even in the 8 foot swell, the area adjacent to the south jetty was relatively calm.  This is the area that Frank is talking about starting in.

Thanks for the info, sounds like we'll start here.  Appreciate the heads up. We should be there by around 8:30 or so.

Allen and I will hook up in the morning for the drive over. Thinking of picking up some worms for top hook above the plastic.
Will drop Allen along the sand road or parking lot of Portero Beach then head into the business end of Moss Landing or south Jetty side.
Look for green euro vw van with tinted windows. NCKA sticker and  I served Veteran decals. Van has disabled Veterans Plates.
If you want to hook up company welcome of course. Those in the $10 NCKA Derby we will see you in Moss or the Hall in Santa Cruz.
I'll be on Ch69 and Diana will be lounging near the van with her's on 69 also. She picked up some beer for maybe a noon hookup.

I went out around 11:00  and after casting my green slider grub that I had done well with on my first only 2 times ever surf fishing...I got nothing so tried getting more active and started walking searching for fish...following little surf diving birds and tried every color/brand of grub I had... nothing...2 hours and not even a nibble...gulp camo worms...slider grubs...nothing...then I got one decent BSPerch - landed it on a green slider grub and butt juice..stayed till 3pm chucking in the same area and working up and down on the incoming tide...got one strike...got hungry and came home...too bad I caught this the day before  :smt005....little over 12" and chubby....little windy and as Pat said decent waves and sets coming in and catching me pushing me around pretty good...see you guys tomorrow...I'll be the guy ,barefoot in shorts waist deep, red visor  :smt003  ch#69

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

People aren’t supposed to look back. I’m certainly not going to do it anymore.”
