Logo is by our friend Amadeo Bachar.  This yearwill be a varation on the graphic above, with some sort of giant X behind it to denote 10th annual.  And, likely different colors so we can print it on black tshirts.

the white ones from last year are only good for one cup of coffee if you have a mustache.

and, oh yeah, the tshirts are delivered AT the Derby.

PS for those who are new to the Sand Crab Classic.....this is not a yak event......

Surfcasting anywhere you want on the coast. Fish have to be caught that day, and weigh in ends at 1pm. (If you at Portuguese Hall, and in lne at 1pm, you get weighed in.  Separate trophie line-ups for barred surf perch, and for all other perch this year.

Popular spots are Pacific Grove, any beach around the Monterey Bay, Privates in Captiola (bait),  beaches and coves north of Santa Cruz. We have good structure on lots of beaches thanks to the big swells we got this winter.  If you haven't done a lot of surfcasting, read Alien's surf perch article, very instructive.

YES!  That trophy is up for grabs, Jim.

And, forgot to mention-   ALL proceeds go directly (and immediately)  to the Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout Project. 

We should all meet up and fish together at the beach, then caravan/carpool to the awards lunch. The raffle is one of the highlights of this event. Lots of fishing stuff.
