I have some great pictures of the event..let me re-size em..Met the winners in the parking lot after most had left and got the skinny and good pics of them and bucket of monsters etc...pics in a few...oh me...i caught two seagulls but let them go due to not knowing about the exotics category....I got NADA...Matt M AKA steel head with the NCKA top honers and the fat bankroll...better guy than us...kneel before him  :smt001

pics to follow

this little girl had a great perch and won a trophy..very cute....some pic of the kids and women awards....here are some pics ...different weigh ins...the1st,2nd ,and 3rd getting awards...the girls in the parking lot very proud...the winner ,husband and wife, and their big pile of great sized BSP on the gravel next to his truck...very nice folks and they took time to give me and Phillip a 10 minute perch lesson...one on one with locations and techniques and bait/lure rigging tips...they had a pile all huge...the two in the center bottom of the pile were 1st and 2nd place...last picture---a woman won the derby!!!

Congrats Matt on your jackpot win. Sorry I didn't get to talk to you, and didn't get my $10 in. Pm me and I'll send it to you.
Same story for me as most, lots of casting for naught. Great looking water at Manresa, and I had caught fish there a couple of days ago so I was optimistic. Never saw a fish caught by any method, by the dozens of anglers in the area. I did get some experience casting my new switch rod though, what a breeze compared to the single hander.

Great cause you guys did a great job once again. Shout out to Allen Bushnell and Mike Baxter from the radio show for promoting this. Hard fishing all day by the looks of Polepole and I we were done around 11:30am.
Shootout to Matt for taking the pool nice fish brother. Zisco kid only a 1/4" but you killed in the raffle dude. Alien nice try on the Barbed Perch only you had me thinking  :smt002.
Thanks the the catchers for sharing their fish with the less fortunate. And as always it was good to see the strong turnout of NCKA.
Raydon thanks for the tshirt and Jedmo I picked yours up.

Great day and props to Allen & Mike for another hard to top event! Also a big thank you to Craig/trianglelaguna for the ride and company! He was truly gracious and helpful in getting me out. (I was unable to fish at all last year due to a neck and back injury! I am now battling my way back to being able to physically do what was normal) All I caught was a seagull but I had lots of fun trying to make some kind of a showing. I learned a few things as I do every time I go fishing. It was really uplifting to see the NCKA folks and visit. I was beat up and hurting bad by !0AM  :smt013 but was able to rest and then throw a few casts and go rest again  :smt044 The madness made me do it  :smt044 I definitely over did it yesterday and am hurting today but it sure was fun! I'm getting stronger so watch out next time! :smt044 :smt044

Thanks to all, son and I got skunked, but had a great time meeting others.  Was intersting watching the seagull C&R.  I did bear witness to this.

Maybe next time we'll all do a little better.
