Since my return to the site, I have made a choice to stay clear of these types of discussions and any threads involving some of the participants in its more recent direction. But, I am a casual player in the KW game and it now has my interest.
I also chose to take a look at the NCKA KW team fish, but before I go any further please allow me to cut and paste the rule that I believe is most applicable. #9

ALL Fish 24" and under MUST be photographed with a measuring device showing proof of posted length. This rule also applies to ALL fish being submitted for TROPHY or RECORD Status. The only exception is for Billfish, Sharks, and Tarpon. All other species must abide by this rule. Failure to comply by this result will result in deletion/modification/downgrade of size. Repeated offenses may result in disqualification for the angler in Kayak Wars for the year.

All fish 24" or less MUST have the entire fish in the photo. For larger fish, please make the best possible attempt to include the whole fish along with an object for scale (ex. ruler, water bottle, or boga grips).

If Kayak Wars organizers feel the submissions are questionable because of unlclear photos, inaccurate size reported, poor attempt at getting the whole fish in the photo, or any other reason leading to the submission not being properly eligible, then the submission may be deleted and the angler warned. To prevent this disqualification of a catch, take several pictures (clear photos) of each fish to help validate your catch.

For ALL fish 36" and under, you MUST take photos of live fish at/around time of catch. Dead fish photos for this mentioned size will be disqualified and deleted (with some minor exceptions by KW organizers). Large species (over 36 inches in length) may be submitted as dead fish as long as all other criteria are met. In all other cases you must photograph and submit live fish. If your catch does not meet this criteria it will automatically be deleted without warning. You must have your kayak or a fellow kayak in a picture to verify authenticity of kayak fishing. Or a sequence of photos from other fish pictures uploaded must conclude that you were kayak fishing.

Any submissions on land such as 'grass/lawn/yard' which cannot prove the validity of being caught in the kayak may likely result in deletion.

Ok, now that we all have an equal reference, lets take a look at a few of the NCKA submissions.

Let's start with my personal favorite.
This picture was used for 3 separate entries. None are measured/photographed and all are dead.
These fish totaled 100 points and the cab was a "trophy" class fish.
Im also curious about the dates. GS8 catches?

Second place goes to this nearly criminal fingering of the measurement AND it still didn't reach 24.

Short a few points? double up!  Maybe cover the red spot with your hand next time.

Rules are clear on lawn shots. No

Dead as Dilinger

Add these to the off limits rockfish entries and other "questionable" entries and things do start develop a odd aroma.

I should add that there are 2 members of this team that I respect. RacinRob and I have some time on the water and I imagine that we will have more. ISOF is someone that I haven't had a chance to fish with yet but I certainly appreciate how he conducts himself here and absolutely respect the talent to find the fish he searches for.  It is that respect that makes these questionable entries so surprising.

Maybe this is an educational issue? Or maybe a fear based response?
Who knows?
But what I think the really important question is
Does a team calling itself NCKA represent the NCKA club?  Taking up that moniker should require some responsibility to keep the No Class out of NCKA.

Well everyone makes mistakes now and then.  I really don't see anything that bad with the pics SaltyJim has posted so don't know where that's coming from...

Ok, I guess I'm in this now. The GS8 pics were delayed because I was waiting on approval from Oz. my OTW camera was FUBAR  and I use a camera with bad date stamp. At Ozs request I used the same pick for the three submissions.

The wiggly ling shot... IT WAS 24 INCHES. Wiggled its way off the trough and into the ocean as I was shooting it. That was the only  shot I had. I assumed you all would trust me. My bad.

The blacks. 14" rockfish are not that hard to catch. No need to hide or "stretch" them I NEVER DOUBLED UP ON PICS.

So bad photos? Maybe. Cheating? NO.

Dead fish photos? I have done that. My mistake I should have read the rules better. Won't happen again.

Oh, one more thing FUCK OFF!

LOL, Just kidding... couldn't resist, sorry ;).

But really, if OTHERS think that this causes some sort of stain on the NCKA name I'd be willing to withdraw. It's just fishing, not really all that important in the grand scheme. How about a poll?

Ok, now that I'm on my computer instead of my phone I have to eat a little crow here (don't worry Craig I wont actually eat a crow :smt005) . Those two blacks look pretty much identical. It's embarrassing to admit but it looks like I did double up  :smt011  All I can assume is that I retook the picture so that my hand was not in the way and then posted the wrong pic in lieu of another. I can assure you that I did not intentionally submit a fish twice. I'll email Oz and ask him to remove it. Sorry

I'm convinced that INSEARCHOFISH's bazillion trout submissions are all the same fish  :smt044

I guess I will add my 2 cents,  those that question my catches should be sure and get all the facts before they try and tarnish the NCKA name by leading people to believe we are cheating. To help clear a few things up for the concerned... Im not sure which "grass" shot you were referring to but in case it was my striper, as soon as I posted it I also posted this,  http://extremecoast.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22210 I was told the "dead as dillengar"  was in refernce to my mutant trout, here is the post on KW forum that I started when I posted that fish apologizing for the bad photos leaving Oz to make the final decision  ...http://extremecoast.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22227

I know Oz appreciates people keeping an eye out for cheaters and I have reported a few "questionable" catches myself, but I leave it up to him to make the final call and leave it at that.  Sometimes I dont know the whole story

And adam as far as all my trout all being the same, there is no rule about planting your own private pond and catching the same fish over and over again  :smt004

Any more questions about my catches feel free to ask :)

Tight lines and good luck to all!!

Well I guess I'm the bad guy.
I am surprised how flexible the KW rules are. Ive had plenty of uncooperative fish that I wasn't able to get a clean photo of before its escape. I just believed that part of the game was documenting a slippery creature without killing it. Its not easy and it was part of the challenge. Clearly I was wrong.
Im not sure why or how my photos were removed from my original post, but I put them back up.
I was hoping that my message was clear and that it wasn't just 1 or 2 questionable entries but a trend and from multiple players.
Those that have been around since the early NCKA years know that I have struggled with the online culture. Im not quite wired right for it but I still enjoy documenting and trying to share some stoke.
I know better than to get involved in any kind of edgy conversations here and had to learn this lesson again.  Ill get back to working on boats and documenting adventures.
As far as KW goes, T-BP is currently discussing as to whether this is something that we are interested in continuing and getting back to our purely recreational roots. Im not sure exactly how I feel about it yet. Im not even sure if I should be involved with the NCKA.

It would certainly suck to lose you again, bro.
