Very true Craig.        What you think you're not involved in this Adam?        I'm gonna have to analyze your pics now buddy!   :smt012    j/k

On another note I just received my AOTY prize for fifth place in 2013. These Nomad boots are going to work great next time I fish Konocti Bay. Kokatat threw in a really nice Destination Paddling shirt & also a Polartec Powerdry Outercore long sleeve shirt cause there was a delay in shipping since I emailed them my foot size a while back. SWEET!!!! Thanks Kokatat!

Anyways I want to apologize to people reading this thread. Apparently this other team, Team Bridgeport, thought they could attack us on NCKA and cause us to quit playing KW so they could increase their chances of winning. What most people don't know is one of their main players Terry/Hydrospider has been holding onto a grudge against people from NCKA for a long time. He has quit & rejoined NCKA several times in the past & this grudge has now manifested itself within this thread. For my part I bear this individual no ill will. He probably doesn't even remember meeting me once at Elk in 2007 or 2008 & the nice conversation we had. That's too bad because it always seems to help foster better relationships when you meet people face to face. So again I apologize to people reading this thread. Playing KAYAK WARS, like any other competition, is what you make of it. I believe it's fun to post my catches & see where my team & me personally end up in the standings at the end of the year. Others want to use it as an excuse to launch attacks & continue their vendetta's. That's unfortunate but as Craig has said it's all part of the game. Here's a video I believe everyone involved in any competition could benefit from watching. Thanks, jim/Salty

I attacked no one, nor do I want anyone to quit…..anything.

Sorry but after the things your team mate posted & the fact that you chose to confront us here instead of simply relaying your concerns about a few of our entries to the KW director........well right now your intentions are in doubt. Our team didn't start this you guys did. Hopefully we all can meet in person someday. That would help. Good luck. Jim

Since when is it "vendetta" to speak when you believe an injustice is being done?  You can either stand and take it or speak.

One situation has nothing to do with the other.  I don't know anyone from any other KW team, am I trying to get them to quit if I question a catch?

Standing up for yourself and your teammates is an honorable thing and you shouldn't be subject to haranguing when you do it.

I haven't scored many KW pts yet but my entire life has been competition.  If you submitted a catch "just in case", or you left it up to the site admin to "judge your catch" (or worse, you knew he wouldn't) then maybe "winning" has become a distraction for you.  That's all I've heard from any member of Team Bridgeport.

If you're happy with your submissions, then great, let's fish!!

I'm not going to quit, so neither should you (by the way, thinking anyone wanted you to quit is pretty soft headed).

I'm a member of Team Bridgeport, and I'm going to keep plugging away to see if I can help my team.  However, my team would be the first get on me if they thought I had done something questionable.

And that's why I fish with them

And always will

John

PS - I dug the video.  Watched a lot of that stuff for grad school.
Lovin' every minute of it!!!

Since when is it "vendetta" to speak when you believe an injustice is being perpetrated?

One situation has nothing to do with the other.  I don't know anyone else from any other team in KW, am I trying to get you to "quit" if I point out what might be unfair?

Standing up for yourself and your teammates is an honorable thing and you shouldn't be subject to haranguing for doing it!!

I haven't scored many KW points yet but my entire life has been competition.  If you've done nothing wrong, then play on.  However, if you had to check and see, or, you posted just in case, or you're leaving it to the site admin to judge your submission (or worse, you knew he wouldn't) then maybe "winning" has become a distraction for you?  And that's all I heard from anyone from Team Bridgeport who was questioning submissions.  If you're happy with what you've put up, then great, let's fish.

I too am a member of Team Bridgeport, and Kayak Wars makes me feel like I'm fishing with my best friends even though I live hundreds of miles from all of them.

I'm not quitting, so you shouldn't (by the way, saying that anyone wanted you to quit is pretty feeble).

I'm going to keep trying to help my team, but they would be the first to get on me if I posted something they thought was questionable.

And that's why I fish with them

And always will

John

"An injustice"?       REALLY?      it's an ongoing fishing tourney dude. The tourney directors will be looking at all the entries. No one is being unfair to your team. The contest doesn't end until mid December!

Your team mate Terry implied several slanderous things about our team using inflammatory language, "Dead as Dillinger" etc, all here on NCKA instead of simply contacting KW. He even went so far as to say that he didn't respect all of us. & now, because you forced us to, we're trying to defend ourselves.

I'm NOT sorry you feel you "shouldn't be subject to haranguing for it" but as I said before your team started all this.

What I am sorry for is that your team started confronting us here on this thread instead of bringing any concerns directly to KW. I'm sure glad NCKA's AOTY has a rule forbidding EXACTLY the kind of behavior, public attacks regarding other competitor's entries, that is being played out here.  jim

Jim,

I have nothing against anyone.  To be honest, adding to a blog is just wrong for me.  I couldn't care less, I was standing up for Teammates because they're more then that to me and I thought I could clarify positions and help smooth it out a bit.

Didn't work

It's cool John. That's exactly what I'm doing here. All we can do is try to communicate as best we can & this typing is the hardest way to do it.  jim
