rode by the bay on highway 1 this morning around 930ish there were TONS of boats off the hotel /message mountain area-and a bit north like all bunched together doing the halibut thing...some decent sized boats too from what i could see doing 80 on my kawi...was down on cannery row around lunch or later and the wind was pretty stron out in the main water with white caps and sailboats being all I could see over by the dunes in seaside marina...Did my friday try out of my new rod and reel...love it...strong enough to reel up a snagged anchor and rope....caught my first decent ling and my gal got three nice rockfish in a row, and then her first ling and then her thumb  :smt010...releasing the ling...ended our day by 9-930 and back in and off to see her uncle the docotr for a nice needle and remove job....she  is an expert hook handler now and nothing more needs to be told to her...she had all the tools and talking to...turns out nothing beats hands on experience

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

People aren’t supposed to look back. I’m certainly not going to do it anymore.”

and that is something I may move towards...she had not let the tension off the pole

no highjacking threads ...I am sorry for getting off course....but thought a trooper like Amy deserved a shout out...she is ready to go again but has to work tomorrow...

back to the tourny topic...
I am way jazzed to meet folks and try and join up out there if that is cool....but dont laugh(too much) I made up half my stuff so far for my Kayak and the other  half to a third  of what I am lugging I should be leaving at home...I wonder if I will be the newest cat out there...i'm sure you all had to go through a learning curve....Excited to paddle my pig of a fish-n-dive with my NFL linebacker sized ass in it tomorrow...really cool hobby...I've lost 10-15 lbs since starting a month ago
