Anybody that is showing up early Friday think they might have extra space? I won't be getting there until Friday evening and don't know if I will be able to get a campsite since it's first come first serve at Veteran's.

just a heads up...I'm sure folks know the ropes on this derbi but anyways...
Just got off the phone with M.B kayaks and got my confirmation

I usually launch there near the event in mast past weeks learning outings and 'always ' can score free parking for the day along the main drag by the freshwater pond, that said I'm there at sunrise and it fills quick after that....the guy on the phone said he had 35 or so showing up as of now so finding free  parking may be a iffy one sunday, even at 5:45-6-15 a.m window
he says some folks at events  park in their M.B kayak co. parking lot where the city also meters  :smt009 and it is 1.50 hr or 10 for the day....
see you folks there  :smt004

There's usually 80+ participants. Most people will just park in the MBK lot or in the city lot beside MBK. No worries on parking because there isn't a concurrent event @ PB or Laguna seca this wknd (that's when we have serious parking issues because they often park their big rigs in the MBK lot).

yeah thats rough...we'll see how this year goes but next year I would more than willing to help out and have some folks camp at our place we rent in the country(small country cottage... but plenty of parking and tent space in the open fields and area aroyund on the property) 5 miles in carmal valley rd and 10-15 minutes drive to bay event....we could stage area etc...worth a thought

p.s I'm working on the cliffs this morning in Carmel highlands and there is a huge group of Risso's dolphins patrolling out by point lobos and down to yankee point and then back and forth...very cool work day!!!

sure... sounds great....not sure what fish are up for next on the bay after rockfish closes...got one other house on the property and it is renting/ folks stopping by and looking at it right now or else i would offer my place for a campout this time...gotta meet the new neighbors and get feel for how they are ,as the property is a shared two houses deal...but plenty of room for a few set of wheels and tents sometime
chat at the derbi and we can go from there...I know folks inland might like a base to get over to bay more often
