Many thanks to everyone who came to the tournaments in 2012 and made the series great!
After deliberation and input from other kayakers I have come up with a schedule for the 2013 events.

First things first tho, the FreshKATS (Freshwater Kayak Anglers Tournament Series) 2013 membership is $15 and covers all 6 FreshKATS 2013 events .  Each tournament entry fee will be $10 and will be used for prizes on top of what I can get in sponsorship/donations.  The rules are the same for each event, best 5 fish of any legal species based on a point per inch scoring system adjusted for the event to highlight the primary target species.  I will post the scoring system for each event 1 month in advance of the tournament.

The Schedule as it stands for FreshKATS 2013 is:

1)  Black Butte Lake, Buckhorn Rec. Area: March 23, 2013  (Map: http://goo.gl/maps/JDO38] )
Day use  =$4.00
Camping = $18.00/night, no electrical, but drinking water is available.
Event Thread: http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=44147.0

2)  Lake Berryessa at pleasure cove: April 14, 2013  (Map: http://goo.gl/maps/WUPgf)
camping and day use info : http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=44917.0
Event Thread: http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=44148.0

3)  New Melones Lake at Glory Hole: June 8 2013 (Map: http://goo.gl/maps/zLcAj )
Day use = $8
Camping = $22
Event Thread: http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=44149.0

4)  Bullards Bar Reservoir at Dark Day: October 5, 2013 (Map:  http://goo.gl/maps/PqlmD )
Day use = $0
Camping = $22
Event Thread: http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=44150.0

5)  Lake Amador: November 10, 2013 (Map: http://goo.gl/maps/sDrwD )
Day use  =$9/car
day fishing = $8/person
Camping = $25
Event Thread: http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=44151.0

6)  Port of Sacramento at Barge Canal: December 8, 2013 (Map: http://goo.gl/maps/I33au )
Day use = $0
Camping not available
Event Thread: http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=44152.0

These dates were chosen as not to conflict with other tournaments and provide at least 2 weeks between other anticipated events historically held on NCKA.

The locations are all within 2 hours of Sacramento and should provide good fishing at the event date.  My objective is to have a series of events where I think everyone has a good chance of winning the event based on the species available and best available knowledge of fishing conditions for the lake and season.

As with 2012, this is a series and points will be accumulated for all events to decide the series winner.

Sponsors thus far include (updated as I get more):

Headwaters Kayak Shop
Lowrance Marine
Boomerang Tools (Maker of The Snip)
Hobie Kayaks
Ocean Kayak
Adventure Sports
Headwaters Adventure Company
Reel Fish Bait Company
Pro-Cure
Crystal Basin Tackle
Trinidad Tackle
TFO

Great Jim. It's Dark Day at Bullards though. March 22 is a Friday, and June 1 is the same day as the LCKA Lake Sonoma Slam.

Two weeks in a row no big deal. Sometimes racing I put in 5-6 weeks in a row with up to 2 classes each day on two day weekends. That's up to 4 races a weekend. Crazy.

Thanks Rob, Corrections made :)

I'll be the point for Berryessa this year as well as the other 5 events, Ricci asked me to take it for this year as he has to take care of some other stuff and didn't think he would have the time.

ATD and I will be working on the DFG permits this weekend and I am starting the graphics ideas.

I'll be at Black Butte this Sunday with the family if anyone wants to join and do some scouting  :)

For Berry this year, is there any camping options still open there or close by?  With all the closures i'm still confused if there is any place left to camp at berrry.  :smt009

Re: Berryessa
What I have read is that there will still be available campgrounds, but I will be contacting Reclamation this week (today IF I can) to double check on what the current state of affairs is...
I am going to try to get the same location as last year.
