My goal: catch a fish (any) out of a yak I actually own. While not borrowing any gear.

I'm pretty much zero for any goals I had.
no cbass, no striper, no hali. I didn't build my rope gym either.

Wait, no I DID fish lake Cachuma (where I spent many summers as a kid) and caught my very first LMB.
so that's sumthin.
And I did put together a kick ass inventory of art for the summer show.

But I am sadly lacking in surpassing last year both in terms of days on the water and fish in the boat.
At least I'm having fun, and the year ain't over yet!

My goals this year were a +35" Ling, a +20" vermilion, and to catch a legal halibut.

So far I nailed my ling at 36.5" and my hali at 36" but the vermilion has eluded me. I have two over 19 though and a 19.5 copper so I ain't complaining but I really want that +20"er. Next year will be two of each and that elusive WSB. :smt003

My goal this year is a 25+ pound AR salmon.  And thinking about next years goal it's simple.
Get out at least 12 times to the salt. I went to Santa Cruz with Auburn Trout Dude a few weeks ago and just had a blast. Next year will be saltier than the last 6 years for me.
And next year I'm gonna go AOTY entry. Hope to finish in the top 15.
Matt

Already hit my goal for the year.
Fished more days than the last two combined, fished w/ some of the greatest anglers in the state, still in the top 5 (even after a few bad pics).
All this and still have 4 months to go.
Thanks for the company along the way.

See ya soon,
Eric / Yakhopper

Amen to that! I caught a 3-pounder at the last HOW event...unfortunately, it was from shore and not from a kayak. Still, it was thrill just get one to bite. One of the guys fishing with me were getting 'em on senkos but I was hell bent on getting them on a top water frog. I lost 4 hookups and landed 1 in about 2 hours of constant casting. Perseverance and confidence goes a long way  :smt045
