As far as camping, do we need to reserve our own, or how many spots do we have already total?

Etienne - I assume that means you're bringing the wife and daughter?

Call and reserve your own campsite - they've reserved a block of sites for us and they're cordoning off two sites within that block that they're giving to us and adding extra tables so we can use it for the party/potluck.   

Other than the two free sites to party in and the owner being really stoked that we're coming, I feel that our excellent patronage and respect for the place will set the precedent for what will be an excellent relationship moving forward.  Let's say this year goes off like a charm - next year we could negotiate a sweeter deal with respect to price, extra trucks/tents/people/dogs...etc.  I'll bet Jack, the owner, will have some kind of killer welcome for us and/or a policy in his store/deli that will benefit the group.  However it goes down, I'll be doing my best to cement an excellent relationship between the Shelter Cove community and ours. 

Doubts about the wife and kid.  School and school take a toll on both but they may join for the weekend.

I'm going to mark it on my calander. I don't know what the work schedule will look like that far out. I will talk to redyak. maybe we can load "All" the gaer and see you there.

This is on my wish list, but my future plans are about as sketchy as a 3 year old's wall art...

This is shaping up to be a great family get together. Dont let the significant others think they might be left out on the fun. The beach down by the launch is nice and sandy, and the surf is usually small unless there is a south swell. Black Sands beach is just up the road and is totally beautiful. You can also spend hours checking out the tide pools at Mal Coombs Park just below the light house, which is right in front of the camp ground.

All right.  We got Chris.  I think that wraps up the original 6 shelterees.

If I recall correctly we were on the back end of a big cold storm that left snow in many areas along the drive there.  Diminishing showers during the two kayak fishing events but nice water.

Etienne - no flashbacks!  That was in March, so I'm very hopeful that mid May weather will be MUCH more forgiving.  By mid May we're usually doing our first river trips in 80 degree weather around here - let's hope for that!   

Not so much a reference to what I expct, more that it will be changeable and you can often sneek in a fishing trip even if the weather is not forcast to be perfect,  Early almost always beats the wind etc.

Before the Tourney keep a sharp eye out for this guy. He's been known to lurk around that area trying to influence the fishing!

I'm kinda worried about the parking. Only enough room for like 25 cars, right? Maybe we can try to yakpool to the launch and a few might have to park above too.
