Ooooh oooh it's ON LIKE MOTHAF@#*ING DONKEY KONG!!! I'm definitely getting the day off work. I got my kayak after LL closed last year so I haven't had the chance to paddle there yet. This is my stomping grounds. My Dad would take me up there all the time as a kid. The bass fishing is definitely tough there but it is so beautiful that it hardly matters. I just love being there. See you guys on 3/3.

Let's hope it's an island after all this rain. Last year, it was a peninsula!

After all this rain, at least the land bridge will be gone!  There might not be enough kayak parking at the island! LoL......

I can bring my gas grill and some man dogs if folks are up for it. Not as good as Joel's circumsized man dogs but pretty good.

Cats?   Don't know?   Possible.  I'll have to check the website.

From the lakes site:

"Largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish also maintain populations"

I am planning on joining you guys on 3/3.  Looking forward to dusting of the Hobie.  Question for you JPRTROY, my Hobie is (I would guess) an '06 or '07 Hull.  Do I need to be concerned about this cracking that you are talking about?

From what I've heard, some decent sized cats come out each year.  Something that you might have going for you Sean is that I don't think they are heavily targeted, mostly caught as byproduct for those targeting other species, so the usual baits should fool them.  That, and since it's right after opening day, so they might be a bit easier to fool.  But I guess that would apply to all species.

Khmunger,

You need to look inside your front hatch at the spot where the front drive rests.  Look at the moulding.  If you can place your finger up under the rest spot, then yes.  If that area is solid, then no.  My replacement hull from my 04' was an 05'  it's production run was not reinforced.  As soon as I got my replacement hull home I reinforced it with the hot glue.  (No pics on this work PC)
I can send you a shot of what I'm talking about when I get home if your interested.
The current production runs of OB's now have that crack prone area fixed, it is solid hull material. (At least the demo OB that was displayed at the ISE had a solid base for the forward drive rest.

Are you folks talking about the 3rd of February 2008, a Sunday?
or Monday, the 4th?
Am I looking at the right calendar?

If I recall, there are two grills. One on each end of the island, with tables.
