Thanks Hojo... and Melissa will be there on Sunday. She's curious as to what you have to show her... I'm kind of curious too. See you there...

I'm hoping it to be a pleasant surprise. The only spoiler would come from Chuck beforehand. I'm sure that statement will have Chuck curious now too.

Monday is the day.  I am ready.  the inspections will be a hassle, I'm sure.  If your boat has been in any other lake within the past 5 days, supposedly it can't go intoLoch lomond.  the boat and trailer have to be clean and DRY, inside and out.  No boats with bilge pumps bait tanks, or thru-hull fittings, other hoses or appurtenances will be allowed in.

Hope all that inspection stuff doesn't take too much time.  I feel sorry for the staff there, lots of time and fryed tempers to deal with this year i bet.

Here's hoping for some good fishing.  Maybe I can even cach a trout again, i have done that once or twice up there haha.

Since I'll be yakking Del Valle tomorrow, I guess that means Loch Lomond Monday is out of bounds for me.

Unless somebody else is bringing a gas grill and organizing the lunch it sounds like the man dog island extravaganza is off  :smt012. So bring your own lunch everyone. Looking forward to seeing ya'll on Monday. I'll be there shortly after 6am.

Opener is allways on the Saturday.

I thought the opener was always March 1 which just happened to be a Saturday this year. :smt017   I guess you would know better than me, I've never fished it before.  Thanks for the clarification.

You know what, I was wrong when I said opener was always on the Saturday!   I can now remember thats not the case!  My apologies.  It was late in the day when I typed that.

Seeing how the gas BBQ grill can't make it, I'll be bringing my lunch & snacks.
Janice, if your still willing to bring some of them great brownies, I'll be sure find you on the water to help lighten your kayaks load!

Hojo, you can still make it to Loch Lomond, just rinse out/off & dry your kayak thourghly,  The rangers at the loch won't know where you've been (Unless you tell them)  If you suspect that your kayak was exposed to these little *&^%$ then yes, you should wait the recommended 5 days.  If your gear is dry, you should have no problems at the inspection.

I'm not happy about the ban on boating if it's raining!

Not sure if its necessary, but I was thinking of using a sanitizer solution of water and bleach to rinse out the inside of the yak.

How was the experience at other lakes with inspections on kayaks?  Should I expect to take down the yak when its my turn, or do they maybe have ladders or something?  Dont mind taking it down, if they help :)

Well I was able to the day off and I am getting my stuff together today.  I had the flu for about 12 days so I am still a little weak but I am still going to make it up there.  See you all on the water.
