Abs! Hope everybody’s safe up your way

My spearguns are from early 70s so not sure what Ill find when I open them up Shafts etc are all stainless so theyre good, just need surgical tubing and hopefully will not be rusted out junk on the inside Wish I still had my old French fins, they were the first long fins and we put grommets and laces on them

My son on one of my longboards in the lineup yesterday

Those abs are scallops.

...

Viz has been great for a few days.

This  flu season 2019-2020 , flu has still killed more people, but you don`t hear about it, not saying it ain`t scary .  This report is from March 5,2020

https://www.contagionlive.com/news/us-flu-cases-reach-32-million-pediatric-hospitalization-rates-hit-record-high

Do-nothing estimates for C19 in US were up to 1.7 million deaths (plus additional deaths due to hospital overcapacity). To compare, 2018-2019 season had 34k flu-related deaths.

We already have 346 deaths in US (vs. 57 week ago) and we'll be up to 1,000+ in less than a week, doubling every 3-4 days. Hopefully measures we are taking will cause it to slowdown in several weeks, but depend on how well isolation is implemented.

Yep , I read something similar , I decided to remove my  post , I wasn't try minimize but to highlight how fragile we are as a species yet also resilient. Also to show what we regard and disregard as notable. My wife said knock it off. The info and stats get overwhelming. I didnt want to add anymore uncertainty but thought my post was doing just that.
Funny, my wife started sending me stats and I said "what the heck am I supposed to do with this?"  I'm reading a lot and nothing is new other than politicians acting like they have power.  Balance in thought and action with the temptation to create a reason to go out is my challenge.  I honestly don't need anything right now except to learn and practice fielding the nuttiness of the home life which has been added a new family member...me...not working like all ya'all...lots of fear being peddled but we have love, courage, much hope and resources...be well Sir Vic newb extraordinaire... :smt006

Thoughts on tandem with my kids(7 & 9 yrs old)? Since it’s family, we don’t have to practice social distancing, right?

Yep, just choose carefully where you go and avoid close contact with other people when parking, launching, etc.
People are actually encouraged to go outside; just NOT TO GATHER IN GROUPS (like some of the Marin beaches this weekend).

Clear Lake is closed to all boating.

Damn, really?  That seems out of line. What about people who live there, literally on the lake with a boat and a dock and maybe even a boathouse?  Exactly what risk do they pose?

I get there’s a bunch of out of area people descending on small towns and rural areas, but closing the lake seems just a bit too extreme.
