So go fishing already. :smt006 This whole thing is insanely over blown. Can’t wait to see how the circus goes, and I’m glad I don’t live in a highly populated area.

We're glad, too!

I haven't heard anything about the construction industry. I work as a carpenter for a big company here in Sonoma County. They have me remodeling a tasting room for a winery in Napa county. All the lumber yards are open and we have plasterers, electricians, concrete guys on the job also. The winery is closed for coronavirus. My boss said he couldn't make us go to work but sort of implied there might be repercussions if we don't go. It feels kind of silly to be out and at risk so they can get their pretty tasting room on time.

It was business as usual at my jobsite this week (new hospital parking garage) until about 9am today. Sent us all packing.
I'm sure it's all for the better.
Coldest damn job I've been on in awhile.
Good riddance. :smt044

This official CA State explanation of the Gov's order is helpful - I think it means we're good to go kayak fishing (well, probably not in tandems):

I posted a link to the Joe Rogan podcast earlier warning of the coronavirus. I thought it would be good to include something from a different point of view. This podcast  interview is in two parts.

The “It will all be ok point of view” below.

Or maybe rehab my old spearguns and do the bigJim thing

That's what I did - super flat and clear at the jetty.  I was rusty and lame yesterday - missed a bunch of little blacks, saw a few lings, broke my spear tip off...

Went back today with more gear and a better plan.  Sure doesn't feel like normal times - do what you can to keep it real.

Thanks, Paul, for your work with the Covid kids.  All medical professionals who are embroiled in this crisis are heroes.

My spearguns are from early 70s so not sure what Ill find when I open them up Shafts etc are all stainless so theyre good, just need surgical tubing and hopefully will not be rusted out junk on the inside Wish I still had my old French fins, they were the first long fins and we put grommets and laces on them

My son on one of my longboards in the lineup yesterday
