oh yeah! patrick [manager] at the outdoor pro shop in oakland was very generous.  all the guys who work there LOVE to fish and are very helpful.  OPS is a fishing candy store: gear for bass, trout, stripers, offshore and more if you are in the east bay it is a MUST SEE!

We have an OPS in Sonoma County (Rohnert Park), same deal..big boy toy store. I spend way too much money in their shop.

I used to frequent both stores until my wife cut my card up.  Scott in Rohnert Park hooked me up with the best guide in PV.  Love those guys and their prices are as good or less than Cabelas without the wait (instant gratification).

So I'm in for this fun event.  Loved it last year even though I thought some of the guys were thrill seekers for fishing behind a reef that was breaking.  Scared the life out of me when a reef revealed itself 3 feet from me.  I hope the support boat is aware he is going to be in dangerous waters.

I just want to give you guys some feedback for newbies.  It was hard finding the launch area.  Several cars were lost and it may help to create a map.
