3RD Annual NCKA Half Moon Bay Kayak Fishing Derby - June 10, 2007

Shimata...that's the same day I'm running our annual karate tournament at De Anza.    I was looking forward to trying out this year too. 

2nd place last year, gonna win this time...

Can we truck camp at the same place as last year?

I'm in. We can form a convoy and go looking for the guy that swamped Frank.

Cant do it this time. We have a camping trip planned at Van Damm with some friends that we cant cancel. (fishing, of course, company welcome VHF # 69)
1st place is now officialy up for grabs along with that cobra.
This is a GREAT derby, fantastic hosts, local, fishing grounds and ncka.
Dont forget your sea-sick pills, it was a wash and tumble cycle last year.

I'll be there. I was worried for a bit, thinking that it was scheduled for the same weekend that I'm supposed to be at a wedding up in the wine country.

If my somewhat faulty memory serves, we fished from 6:00AM-12:00PM last year. Are we losing an hour of fishing time this year?

Gonna be out of town at a wedding but I want to concur that this is a good spot for newbies.  You can paddle out into the big blue/green if you want, but you always have the safety of the harbor if you want to retreat.  My buddy last year got green with the swells so that's where we fished.  In fact, Mooch posted this picture as "NCKA taking a break.." but he didn't know our break was about 3 hours long!

I'm in. Looking forward to another nice long scenic paddle, with maybe a fish this time!

just an FYI: the straps that come with the mini cart are not long enough. I think they are made more for the Sit-inside-yaks...

Ok Team Bodega is in.  Is there any update on the camping in parking lot situation.  The hostel was full and we need to camp it somewhere.  Don't mind the parking lot...just don't want to get there and find out there is no place to stay.

The parking lot right across HMB Kayak Co. should have enough room for everyone. I say we do a tail gate party 

i'm in for the tailgate. hopefully the conditions are a little bit better this year.
