Date: Saturday February 6th

Location: O'Neill Forebay of San Luis Reservoir

https://www.google.com/maps/place/San+Luis+Reservoir/@37.08341,-121.0611176,13z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0xfd82bdf596cb7efe

Time: Arrive and fish and cook and chill as early as you want. Award ceremony will start promptly at 2pm to give folks like our AOTY coming from the far north time to drive down.

Schedule of events starting at 2pm:

1. AOTY and Junior AOTY (AOTY committee)
2. Raffle for Camera for early signups (BigJim?)
3. DOTY and Junior DOTY (DOTY committee)
4. Participation Raffle drawing for WS Thresher (RacinRob), and Hobie Sport for Juniors (Rider)

The group campsite (GOA) is reserved and paid for under my name for anyone (up to 60 people) who wants to stay the night and camp. I won't be able to, but I imagine some folks will want to.

Sweet, looking forward to it!  Never been there.

The divers are cool with a FW location?

Location was decided on primarily for location/ease of access to HWY 5, distance from Sac/Monterey/Santa Rosa (anywhere from Humboldt is too far Chris sorry  :smt044)  rather than fishing/diving opportunities.

I have reserved group camp site G0A for us for Saturday night...up to 60 people and 15 vehicles....PK says it has a nice amphitheatre and stuff which should be good for awards.

I've never been there but looking forward to it!!

One ticket per paying entrance fee.

One additional ticket for each species entered and approved in AOTY and DOTY, max of 21 tickets.

Do not have to be present to win.

Prize is WS Thresher.  :smt007 :smt004 :smt007

Quote
The winner of AOTY will receive a 2015 Hobie kayak; the winner of DOTY will receive a 2015 Jackson kayak; and there will be another kayak TBD that will be awarded via raffle at the 2015 Awards Ceremony.

Each participant in AOTY/DOTY will automatically receive one entry into the raffle once they pay the $40 entry fee. Participants can receive up to 20 additional raffle entries for each species submitted and approved in both AOTY and DOTY. 21 entries into the raffle will be the max that any player can have. The goal of the raffle is to encourage participation and friendly competition amongst those anglers and divers that may not be able to invest the amount of time needed to finish in the top three.

Sincerely,

Jim

It's a nice spot. Hopefully the weather cooperates (but even if it doesn't, we have a big rotunda for shelter).
There will be enough room for everybody. Some may have to pay day-use fee though ($6).
We can launch kayaks right there and fish for striped bass, largemouth, catfish & panfish.
Maybe start the awards at 2, in case people want to dive Monterey/Carmel before the awards ceremony...it's about an hour & half from Monterey.

Dumb question, cuz I've never been there....do they check ALL kayaks for water and stuff?

I will have prize Kraken and Revo kayaks...might be wet from rain...won't be using them there though...any problem with that?

They do check all kayaks but will give a little if it is raining.  Just make sure they are bone dry inside.  It's on the calendar!
