Must have been RIGHT on the line.  Had to do a double-triple take when I saw it.

Travis is a BIG dude too, he would make a ten pounder look borderline! If only one salmon was gonna be caught, couldn't have been a better person to catch it! I was pumped when I seen him with it on the beach! He earned it!
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Just wanted to say thank you Eric and all that were involved in setting up the event and the sponsors and the folks that donated to the cause.  :smt006.
Thanks you for allowing me access into a fantastic tournament and great group of folks that participated in it.

As people have stated, where do you begin. So much went through my head in three days that it would take forever to write. So in keeping it short. I had a great time and enjoyed the company, food and conversations !!! Of course the fishing as well.

Besides enjoying all the time at the " Cove". I had a very memorable drive home. I even got kinda emotional as I passed the redwoods headed back home to the city of salinas. It's been decades since my father would take our family to the mouth of the Klamath as young teenagers. Seeing "Confusion hill " and a few other tourists stops brought back great memories .

Thanks Again !!! :smt001

Who was behind me on the way out in the double cab blue truck poking there head out in the passenger rear seat?  :smt001

Well where do I start? The plan was to get up early and pack a few things and leave by 9:00 am Thursday morning. Christine changed that plan, Friday night she took a header off the porch and we thought she may have broke her ankle. 8:00 am she is at the Docs office and I am packing. We finally get to leave around 2:00 pm. After road construction, lunch, and a quick stop at Eel River for growler fill ups we pulled in about 7:30 pm. Christine brought her cousin Sally and I think she was shocked at how welcoming everyone was. When we pulled in, Cameron met me with a beer, thank you Cameron I needed that. Then it was like a family reunion after that.
Friday was a great day on the water, we were catching fish after fish. Short sleeve shirt and very little wind, just what the doctor ordered. The Cove once more produced another fish I could mark off my bucket list. I caught my first ocean salmon yeah !!!!!!! The bad, I was fishing for rockfish!!!! DAMN!!!! After a few pics from Bret (nosoupforyou) I released it back into the water and watched dinner swim away !!! I told Bret Christine is going to kill me, she has been on me to catch her some salmon.
Saturday started off rough, the conditions were sloppy at best, but by the time we got to Ab point it started to mellow out. Fisheducator and I started catching some nice fish, I had a 28" and a 26" ling along with a 23" Cab. I said had because after catching a double of nice blacks I went to put on the second one on my stringer and no stringer CRAP !!!!! Ok I said more than that!!! The pot luck was incredible, everything I told Sally it would be and more. Congrats to all the winners, well deserved, and a huge thank you to all the volunteers !!!! Eric thank you so much for another Bitchin event, we very much enjoy the vibe and all the people that make it to GS!!! Thank you NCKA for making my wife Christine and her cousin Sally feel so welcome. Sally said on the way home she has 50 new friends all named Buddy !!!!!!
Our trip ended the way it started, when we started out the trailer fell of the ball, Thank you Jon ( shoprat ) he jumped out and help lift it back onto the ball and the rest of the trip was great. Here is a pic of the salmon I caught, thanks Bret for taking it. Thanks again Eric you Rock, and thanks again NCKA you all rock !!!!!

Another great event !  Thanks to all the people who jumped in to help Eric make it happen.
Questions answered: Can Ernest / Lucky13 cook?  Heck Yes!!!
Where's Roger? Yes,  you've won the Kayak, Now run Roger Run!
Whose that sleeping in my bed ? An ode to Jack Daniels shots.
Yes, it is necessary to leg lock a 15+# Ling, cause even if it's covered, deep in the net, and you are applying shampoo, it's always one lap dance away from freedom. :smt012
In the spirit of what happens at GS stays at GS - Can you catch an exotic disease from applying the foot of a 10 inch Ab to your junk ?? I guess he'll let us know after the incubation period is over !  :smt044 :smt044
Thanks to everyone for the good eats and thanks to Ernest for doing all the driving
