You don't consider ling cod, rockfish, and cabezon as ocean fish?

Kevin essentially sealed up 1st place a couple months ago, then there was no looking back!  A helluva fisherman and he deserves the win!

Meanwhile, he's left the rest of us to battle for the scraps  :smt044.  There's been a lot of movement in the Top 10 these past couple weeks.  Some big surges with guys getting multiple last-minute catches.  It's been interesting checking the scoreboard, as it seems to change almost every day.

I'm done, nothing to add. Have not fished since I think Anchor Bay. Just got busy killing birds and really did not care to fish.

too funny I don't know how I missed this earlier :smt044 It was my first year in the salt on a yak and I did catch a ling, rock and cabby but they just were not big enough to make my top 10. I thought a 34" ling was going to be easy, but boy was I wrong.  Ill never forget that sea trout, my dad didn't get why I was so stoked to catch it. lol  And the "mud shark" only weighed in at 22lbs and had looks only a mother would love but I couldn't have asked for a better AOTY fish! That fish has a good story too, 10min earlier that day I landed a 36". When I hooked into the 40" it did not feel big... I offered the pole to my friend cause he had not caught anything yet, sure glad he said no!!!!!

Any idea what time the awards will be done?  & what time for the potluck? I might day trip or sleep in the truck & hang. Not sure yet but i think i'll grill a tritip either way.

Jim,

I've asked the committee how they want to do it, but my vote will be for doing the chilling and potlucking (and enjoying the whole roast pig we have coming!) from whenever people arrive in AM until 2pm and then starting the awards.

Obviously eating and drinking can and will continue during and after the awards.  :smt003

As soon as the committee guys decide what they think is best we will post it here.

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Here's the schedule of events for Saturday 2/7 at Timber Cove:

-People can arrive in AM and paddle/fish/dive or just chill etc. If you plan on just chilling there is no fee. If you plan on paddling/fishing/diving it is $8 per person and you should pay at the pay station up top in front of the office trailer.

-The whole pig (courtesy of Red Triangle Spearfishing and being picked up and brought by Kurious George) should arrive around noonish.

-Please remember, the parking spots down at the beach WILL fill up so be prepared to be flexible and ready to unload gear etc if needed at beach and then park back up top. PK and ATD will be on the beach in AM to help people with this.

As long as everybody works together and stays relaxed it will all work out fine.  :smt008

-We plan on starting the DOTY awards at 1pm, then the AOTY awards, then the participation raffle.

If you have folding tables you can bring that we can use for prize/food set up please do so!

Thank you!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

PS. For those that want to camp, it is first come first serve and there are limited spots right on beach. Not sure about camping fees but you can call Brenda at (707) 847-3278 to inquire.
