all of these folks are for sure listening to their evening news and will get behind whatever they are told......

being in the greenhouse growing biz my whole life, I have used chemical pesticides, fungicides, miticides, herbicides and every chemical fertilizer know to man. So I am no rasta hippie nut job.  But many of the comments in this thread are acting has if GMO is the same thing as hybridization.  Hybridization is where I take one tomato plant that has big fruit and cross pollinate it with a tomato that resists disease.  It can happen in nature, but we learn to cross the traits we want. That has been going on since the dawn of time.

GMO is similar except instead of take the pollen from one and adding it the other we cut directly into the DNA and add genes, often from other species. So take the big fruit tomato and insert some gene from some weird ass weed that doesnt die from an herbicide.  This would never occur in nature. This could lead to some really negative overgrowth of some bad shit.

not saying it is the end of the world, maybe we will just introduce some super weed that screws up entire eco systems
