marijuana is another example of unintended consequences of greedy capitalist bastards (like me) mucking up the genome. Everybody wanted to get high so everyone bred exclusively for THC.  That led to some seriously stoney stuff, but left out the CBD which is a big part of the medical part.  Guys are now trying to breed high CBD strains so that cancer patients can have the medical benefits without getting high.

Hey Alex, sorry I didn't see this thread sooner, I would have been supporting you sooner if I had. I am really disappointed at the negative reaction from members of this site to your post. It demonstrates their ignorance and priorities. GMO foods are not good for our bodies. We have been evolving for billions of years eating non-GMO food and there is no reason to start now. We SHOULD boycott Annie's now just as we should have been boycotting every other unhealthy and greedy company out there. The fact the you bring up Annie's now does not mean that other companies are not also bad and should also be boycotted. Lots of money does not mean squat if you develop cancer from unhealthy foods. Sure the buyout is good for Annie's, they got paid over what the shares were worth, but that does not mean it is good for anyone other then Annie's share-holders.

We have been genetically modifying the genetics of crop populations for thousands of years through selective breeding.  My only concern with GMOs is the move toward monocultures which is a potential food security risk.
