We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

People aren’t supposed to look back. I’m certainly not going to do it anymore.”

The WX for Pinos to Soldiers Club is rough and probably a no go. If you go early and stay in the lee of Pt Pinos, it is probably doable.

Rob, your WX looks a lot better than ours. I wish I could join you. My crew will be sailing AI's which makes it more doable. You and Eric are much more skilled so I am sure your chance of success is pretty good. Just getting in some sailing and being on the chrome hunt with good friends sounds good to me. Scott

It was blowing onshore pretty good this morning. Whitecaps off Seaside @ 730am this morning :-( I might have to catch a stupid halibut instead of salmon.
Craig, the Soldiers Club was a huge building on the edge of the sand dunes in Marina...it was visible from miles away, so it served as a reliable reference point when OTW. But they tore it down a few years ago. It is now Ft ord Dunes State Park and there's a parking lot where the Club used to be. It's probably 6 miles from MBK to the Soldiers Club.

Saw a fleet of boats being towed going south on the 680 this afternoon. These were nice boats that probably stay dry all year except for the salmon opener. It's gonna be a busy weekend in Monterey.

I went casting for perch around 3:30 Friday off seaside -poo plant-home depot area...lets put it this way...even the sailboats were not out-too much wind, it looked like the open ocean white caps and gusts all the way from MBK west along the beaches and all the way to lovers point was pretty knarly imo

oh an not a single perch for my efforts, excellent conditions too-high tide and foam for miles, not a  nibble in about a 1000 casts
