Hate how wet my p15 rides. Hate that my Malibu extreme ploughs through swells instead of going over them
I like to have fun.......

Ocean Kayak lists the Trident 13 at 56 lbs. That's not right its 62 lbs. I weighed mine in the driveway on the scale. For comparison I went to other websites for weight. I was surprised.

Ocean Kayak Trident 13 62lbs.

Jackson Cuda 14 According to the website 80 lbs with seat.

Wilderness systems Tarpon 140 angler 71 lbs. Doesn't say if that's with seat or not.

Eddyline Caribbean 14 50 lbs. Doesn't say if that's with seat or not.

Hobie Revo 13 fully rigged 82.8 lbs.

I think the position and construction of the handles make the T13 hard to handle. The side handles seem to far aft. Maybe that's partly why it feels so heavy.

I just looked at that. They changed it. It used to say 56lbs. Anyway we were having a discussion about the weight of the T-13 a while back so I weighed mine in the driveway on the scale,62 even with the comfort pro seat on it.

That is funny! I think they recently changed that on the site because I remember seeing it was 54lbs on the site not too long ago.

The T13 is the best kayak I have ever tried! I especially like the mod pod, hatches, hatch placement in regards to water flow, scupper hole placement, rigging, stability and speed. I can SUP my T13 no prob.
If it was a little lighter it would just make it that much better!

I think i found my solution to the rod holder problem!

I am pretty sure these Scotty gimbal mounts are too long for the flush-mounts on the Ultra. Like I mentioned above, maybe we can trim them to be shorter & fit the Ultra? Because it w/b the perfect solution.

I'm pretty sure they work just fine ... because I use them on my 4.7.   :smt004

Revo is 69.5lb & Adventure is 75.5lb without drive or paddle but including the rudder. The weight you listed includes those items plus the seat, water bottle, & tackle bucket although the drive accounts for most of the "rigged weight" vs hull weight. Hobie weights also include enough internal foam flotation so the kayak won't completely sink in case of a hull breach. I weighed my Adventure hull complete with rear Sidekick ama bar, clamps, & brackets, 3 Scotty mounts, 2 Ram balls, my FF transducer, & my freshly installed hardware for the new Hobie factory sail furling kit & it weighed in at 77.5. Just for the fun of it I weighed the front hatch cover, cause it felt so heavy, & it came in at 2.5lb. The plastic on that hatch is thick enough to stand on. I'm going to start removing that hatch when I load up. It brings the weight down to an ever so slightly more tolerable weight of 75lb which I think is ok for a 16ft yak with rudder. I would rather it be a little harder to load than have the plastic be too thin.

Love my Eddyline 12. Yes, i did have a troublesome hairline crack in one of the front scuppers that plagued me for a few weeks, because I couldn't see it. Once I found it and filled it, problem solved. Hull stays bone dry now on every outing. I had dropped it off the top of my high-profile SUV a couple of times and I was cinching it down rather hard. I've re-rigged roof rack and Malone Sea Wings, so things are more stable up there now loading and unloading. This is a terrific kayak for me. I also loved my OK T13, but the weight and handle placements were a problem for me. Moving the handles back a bit might help that some.

Necky Dolphin. Short leg compartment for my height 6'2" and lack of internal storage. If it wasn't for those two draw backs it's the perfect fishing kayak.

Hmmm, ok I hope you're right. Do you use the 453 or the 253? Thought I measured the depth of my Ultra 4.7 flush-mounts at 7" deep...but the 253 (the silver one) says it fits 9.5" flush mounts..? I can't find specs for the 453 (the black one) anywhere.

I use the 453.  You can't see too well in the picture, but it has this washer/spacer thingy that is adjustable down the stem to make it fit.  With a 253, you could use some pool noodle to make it fit (acting as a washer/spacer thingy).  I do something similar just to get rid of any play in the fitting.
