Rob got the certificates and small prizes sent to him. He said he would bring them to Albion. I have not received my ice chest though.

What is this talk about Kokatat stuff for AOTY?

Last year/2013 AOTY 4th place was a Kokatat pfd & fifth place was Kokatat Nomad booties.  Rob needs to keep on emailing Lisa until she sends out that pfd.

I must say KW for me has thus far been exactly as advertised. " A fun way to keep track of catches and a little healthy competition", I have made a a couple of submission errors and there is a small learning curve. (didn't see Vermilion Rock fish was a separate category for instance) The forum board is not very active( asked for duplicated entry to be deleted many weeks ago). All in all though it has been a very satisfactory way for me, along with AOTY, to persue my real goal here. That goal being to have fun and "play a good game". If you haven't tried it give Kayak Wars a try next year.

Right on, Amos! That's how I've always treated it too. Although I haven't been doing a good job of documenting my fish this year haha...good thing there's still 4 months!

With Kayak Wars wrapping up in less than a week I thought I would share the results of this years NCKA team

We finished 1st in the Pacific West division overall salt & freshwater combined with a score of 15265 which is more than double the 2nd place teams score.

1st in Saltwater alone for the Pacific West division with a score of 9895 so far and again more than double the next closest team

2nd in Freshwater Pacific Division to team Bridgeport by only 50 points so that may change to 1st after this weekend.

3rd overall for saltwater and freshwater combined in all divisions combined.

8th in Freshwater in all divisions combined.

5th in Saltwater in all divisions combined.

Our team had the 1st, 2nd and 4th place for anglers in the Pacific West division.

Our team also had the 8th and 9th best angler scores for all divisions combined.

Way to go team.  Lets try and get that 50pts to catch team Bridgeport in freshwater.

Ive got the 50 and then some  :smt002 but still not confident it will be enough. Ill get around to posting them up here today or tomorrow

I was promised a 3rd place certificate for 2013 and they couldn't even get me that. I don't think Knoles has ever gotten his ice chest either. As for 2014 I was not promised anything and even if I am I will not expect for it to arrive!

I give a huge congratulations to all the competitors in KW 1014!

As a participant this year, it was enjoyable to see all the cool fish caught during the competition.  For me though, the best of Kayak Wars might have been those special weekend days when I found myself on the water while my team, spread across the state, all hit the water "with me."  The So-Cal Crew might be fishing our Southern waters,  Hydrospider could be found crawling about Clear Lake while the Kraken prowled the Sierras.  There we were, all fishing at the same time many hundreds of miles apart, but it still felt as if we were fishing together.  That said, I am more than proud of my crew of 40-somethings.   Among our group, we have an Educator, a Veteran, and a couple of guys who save lives for a living.  More importantly we are friends first, and at the end of all things- thats what matters most.  Thanks Team Bridgeport for welcoming me and introducing me to this great pastime.

T-B-P!
