This is the time of year that I usually have more time to attend to site issues.  If you have any issue you'd like to see addressed in the forum look and feel, let me know.

For instance, Vanilla-Gorilla was having some issues posting videos.  A quick upgrade to a forum package and the problem was solved.

If I don't know about issues, they don't get solved.  So please ask and I'll address them if appropriate and if I can.  Thanks.

This might just be me but, I'm not a fan of how it takes you back to the index when you post a reply to a topic
Also I'm not a fan of how when you click on a topic from the recent topics section it takes you to the last post on that topic I kinda wish it would take you to the first post but then again might just be me

This is something you can set in your profile.  Go to "Profile".  Then to under "Modify Profile", goto "Look and Layout".  Check the box next to "Return to topics after posting by default."

It takes you the the last post that is unread to you.  The thought being that you've already read the ones before that.

Hmmm, that doesn't seem right to me.  I'll look into what it is really supposed to do.

Allen, sometimes when I post on a Recent post, it does not take me to the last post but sometimes a page or two earlier.

I believe this is a Tapatalk feature. When you first start using Tapatalk, it gives you the option of what message is displayed when you click a topic. This WAS an issue for me so I deleted, reinstalled, and picked the correct setting.

It may be due to clicking the New button rather than the topic title. To see the beginning of the thread, click the subject title, to see the latest post, click New

I don't believe clicking on the subject title will take you to the first post, unless you're up to date on reading that thread (you don't see a "new" graphic next to it).

BTW, if you view a list of thread using the Show unread or Show replies and then "mark all messages as read", even if you actually read them, when you click on the subject title (oh, there won't be a "new" graphic next to it), it will then take you to the first message and the system believes you've read all the posts in the thread already.

Oh, yeah -unless you have already been reading the thread, it won't have a New button.

I'm wondering if VG is clicking the side bar menu rather than New Unread list and that is why it goes to the last post...

Yes, that will take you to the most recent post whether you've read the topic or not.  Try clicking on view unread posts, then you can choose to start at the beginning of the topic. Or you can pick "recent topics" like your doing and just scroll up, to the beginning, that's what I do.

Hmmm ... there seems to be slightly different behavior between the "Recent Topics" block and the "Show unread" link.  I'll put it on the list to look into.
