This was the nasty launch last year.

Be careful when dissing the sea Bro…      :nono:

They are looking to hold Mavricks Friday…  looks like it just kinda missed Crabfest….

Yesterday there were 52' + seas pushing that "Thing" this way…

We'll definitely have some Rollers on Sunday, but at least they wont be pack'd to tight together; and the wind wont be that much of an issue either..... But I still intend on having a garage sale, like last year :smt009

Me too. Can't wait to get the Coosa out in the surf again. Any other Coosa owners out there want to try surfing this weekend?

Can somebody with local knowledge post up the launch, crabbing area, hazards, etc. on a nautical chart like eric does for GS?

Barring that, just how far is it from the launch in which direction, and how deep is it/how much rope will we need?

Thanks.

You will crab in 20-30' and will have trouble getting deeper than 50' unless you paddle a long ways.
The WX looks good.
  Sunrise   7:22 AM
    26     High   6:16 AM     6.0
    26      Low   1:36 PM     0.1
The beach will be big in the afternoon for a group picture.
Here is a map for those unfamiliar with the area.
Don't set pots or hang out in the channel (between rock jettys) strong tide and courtesy to power boats.

That's a great map, you can even get crab near the launch. If you paddle out along the jetty, make a left at the half way point and you are in the start of crabbing grounds. I recommend that you don't go around the Jetty away from the beach. You can always check in with me the morning.

When I took a look at the waiver today I realized that there was a spot where is had 2013 as the year. If you can fill out the updated waiver that would be great. Please print out waiver ahead of time. If you forget yours we will have some extras at the event.

On Sunday morning hand in your completed waiver at the Registration table, you will then receive your ticket for the kayak raffle.

Just an FYI - The ONE piece of litter that the workers at Doran hate THE MOST is discarded pieces of zip-ties. Even worse than cigarette butts because they're damn near impossible to pick up with those gripper things.

Please keep that in mind this weekend!   :smt006

With so many kayakers, if everyone just pick up thrash around 10' radius to where they are standing before and after the event, that place will be cleaner for everyone else to enjoy. :smt003
