Agree FISH HUNTER.
So why are we not collecting taxes on cocaine? It's way more expensive, could generate lots of dollars for schools. And after school programs.  And don't forget heroine. Lotta tax dollars there also. Lets legalize that shit also!

We should legalize it all for tax dollars! Just think of the money out govt could get by taxing all drugs if they were legal.

Hell, it would make my job a lot easier also! No more reports to write on busting folks for drugs. Shit I could just sleep at work every nite!

if the citizens of those states vote on it and it passes,,,,,then whoever chooses to use those drugs can. I wouldn't advise it,,,,,those are some serious life and health altering substances. :smt011

I agree bro.

Whoops. Forgot Crystal Meth!

Again, paints a different picture doesn't it?

No.
 :smt009

apples and oranges. There is NO comparison between cannabis & synthetic junk like Meth.

You are talking about a plant that grows wild compared to natural (or unnatural in the case of meth) substances that require substantial processing with caustic chemicals.

if a plant grows with nothing more than dirt, sun, and water...how can it be illegal? Human greed aside, how can organic cannabis be dangerous as a plant? Unless you were in the paper /wood pulp business...then a surplus of easily grown stalks might bite into your bottom line :smt002.

By your definition COCAINE should be in that category. Along with HEROINE which comes from a natural plant.  So lets legalize HEROINE and COCAINE.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I hope you are being sarcastic.   For the record I think that all plants put here by the creator (whoever that is) should be legal.  Poppies, coca leaves, marijuana, coffee, chamomile, ginseng and all the others are not so bad in their natural state.  It is when we start breaking them down to isolate particular chemical compounds and adding other shit that these organic plants become dangerous drugs.

I am of the "Dont Give A Shit" party. All politicians are straight up CROOKS! just like the drug dealers,,,,they need each other to profit.

Totally being sarcastic folks.

I've been thru the ringer on substance abuse. It's not fun. Just want to help make it a little harder to walk the life I walked pretty easy.

If u have a problem with that then that's a bad place for u to be.

Is you interest in saving the government money or protecting people from their own bad decisions?

Good point MdMatt.
It's actually more concerned about folks. I've been down the addict road. It sucks ass.  Our govt has plenty if cash. We all know that.
Also the folks on this site who use are really controlled. We know that also.

I've used with folks who would kill u for te next fix, we don't have that here thank God.
But I will always be a dude who is against drug use.not from a preacher point of view but from a former addict

Hope u all get this and aren't pissed off or hate me. If u do then that's fine. But be good to yourself.

It seems really impractical of not impossible to prevent people from making poor decisions.  Anyone who has kids (or is or has been a kid) knows that things forbidden are most appealing; thus this method of preventions seems wrong.  By this mentality, aren't there are many other (more)dangerous things that the government should be protecting us from?
I'm not condoning the legalization of "real" drugs, but I am condoning the legalization of pot.  Routinely people  inadvertently hurt/kill themselves enjoying things like inhalants, tobacco, sex, etc.  Pot poses less threat than these activities and is illeagle because the government claims it addictive and dangerous.  Its very in consistant and inaccurate.

MrMatt, I agree! But I dont think making it illegal and locking up users is the answer.

The only thing that should be illegal is messing with other people against their will or messing with their stuff, really.  That covers everything.

Do meth if you want, but don't steal the change out of my ashtray.

Thanks for your honest opinion.  I have lost 3 friends to drug overdoses and another of my friends is on his way.  Very sad.  But these cases were all with heavy drugs. Heroine and meth for the most part.  All of the pot smokers I know are really responsible people you probably wouldn't even suspect of using pot if you didn't know.
