Doesn't Federal Law supercede State Law?

Controlled Substances ActThe Controlled Substances Act is the primary law that established the federal government's position on marijuana. It maintains that marijuana is an illegal substance just like heroin, cocaine, LSD, or any other illicit drug. The law placed drugs into different categories, called "schedules," which are meant to provide indications of their addictive properties and medicinal potential. the state collects TAXES on everything sold at the dispensaries.......i guess the feds want some of the pie, but Big ATF wont let them or the citizens of the United States decide whats good and bad for them on their own.

So why are we not collecting taxes on cocaine? It's way more expensive, could generate lots of dollars for schools. And after school programs.  And don't forget heroine. Lotta tax dollars there also. Lets legalize that shit also!

We should legalize it all for tax dollars! Just think of the money out govt could get by taxing all drugs if they were legal. 

Hell, it would make my job a lot easier also! No more reports to write on busting folks for drugs. Shit I could just sleep at work every nite!

Now if that was legalized we would create all kinds of jobs and tax revenue in this country. You would have medical clinics hiring all over, dental RDA and DAs, all kinds of data companies who need wire technitions. And also gun and ammo sales would be up.
Along with taxable sales of CRYSTAL METH.   Our state would make so much money.
Along with the entire Midwest. And we would also combat OBESITY

Portugal decriminalized drug use years ago, since then drug use across the board has been on the decline for them. Maybe the high prices generated by the war on drugs cause a serious push for the supply and the marketing of a commodity made profitable by the feds.

There is a certain logic to that.  Supply does not exist simply due to demand.  There must be profit in being the supplier.  The illegality of drugs creates the high prices, and therefore drives suppliers.  When everything is legal the prices drop... which has some effect on stemming supply.  Especially when the act of production is still illegal... the cost (both financially and legally) cannot out weight the benefit of profitability.

You are talking about a plant that grows wild compared to natural (or unnatural in the case of meth) substances that require substantial processing with caustic chemicals.

if a plant grows with nothing more than dirt, sun, and water...how can it be illegal? Human greed aside, how can organic cannabis be dangerous as a plant? Unless you were in the paper /wood pulp business...then a surplus of easily grown stalks might bite into your bottom line .

if the citizens of those states vote on it and it passes,,,,,then whoever chooses to use those drugs can. I wouldn't advise it,,,,,those are some serious life and health altering substances.

By your definition COCAINE should be in that category. Along with HEROINE which comes from a natural plant.  So lets legalize HEROINE and COCAINE.
