Wow I think I just learned that people are more afraid of pot than Gws? I've never seen a post explode before like the recent ethics of smoking post.

I'm middle of the road on the matter myself. Not a smoker but don't mind if others do. Amazing to see how worked up some people can get. Some even threatening to call law enforcement to an event that they chose to go to.

I can't wait for crab season!!!

Oh, its happened before . Just the process of growing & learning to adapt to a changing world with all types in it.

Haha yea, I was pretty shocked to see the number of pages on that thread.  Blew up like crazy.  I think in the end, we'll all manage to get along just fine.  Everyone here seems to be very respectful of others and great people overall.  And its natural people got defensive or angry on subject matters that they're passionate about.

I'm a smoker myself, but I usually try do it in the car and sometimes when I'm out in open water in the ocean.

Smoker or drinker, as long as we continue to have common sense and courtesy for each other, we should be just fine!

Otherwise normal people get a little crazy over there children.  People also get crazy over there freedom choice. No biggie hopefully people will be courteous with each other either way in the future.

HA!  I actually looked in on that post when it was still in it's page one infancy... I knew at that moment that it was going to bring down the house.  I've never been sure why this is such an explosive issue.  I don't smoke... never have, never will... but I'll be damned if I am going to tell a fellow grown ass man what he can or can not do.  I mean sure, if some dude where to light up right in front of a little kid, I would be pissed... but no more pissed than I get when I see people smoking cigarettes around little kids.  At that point it is just about common courtesy... the whole "drugs are bad" reasoning is quite frankly beside the point. 

That thread made me want to leave the board again.  Seriously?  20-whatever pages over some common sense BS?

I kept out of that discussion because I try to see both sides, But........
After reading the original post several times, this is my conclusion.
The post was made as a polite way of asking others to use better judgement in the open.
Now you can argue that you have the freedom to make your own choices...... yes you do, but not when it affects my family.
You can also argue that you always keep in your own private area ...... if this was true, this discussion would never have come to be.
Personally, I don't care what you do, its your life and you have the freedom to live it as you choose.
However, if I was to ask someone to show a little courtesy and respect in front of my family, and I got 20+ pages worth of argument ..... it would get real ugly fast, and I don't think I would have much respect for that person.
Sorry if this upsets some of you.
I enjoy the time I spend with all the brothers and sisters of NCKA , but this also had me ready to look elsewhere.

I sure hope that this does not become the norm around here.

Hang in there Eric...I'm sure our family will works thing out with common sense.

I think things are already worked out    It was a good reminder for both sides to show respect and I Knoiw both sides will just as we have always done before. Whats changed?
