Glen, call me today when you have a chance. We will bw staying at the RV park, 200 yards south of the boat luanch, because I still need to get a generator. Also the rate went up (I think it doubled) for overnight parking at P/P parking lot????

Almost finalized plans with the Harbor Master at Pillar Point and HMB Kayak to have our hookup right next to HMB kayak from Friday - Sunday; but if it does go through, it will be limited to the only to 15 or so people. So if you are planning on camping Friday through Sunday, let me know; if you are just coming for the day, park in the upper lot and walk on over for the "Chill". This is RV, trailer and truck camping only, NO TENTS; and it still is 'dry camping', so bring water and supplies.

Weather is shaping up to be a great weekend; although the ground maybe still wet from the wednesday rains.... I should be there around 12noon on Friday, so if you see me RV by HMB Kayak, then it's a go! if not, we will just parking lot camp right across from HMB Kayak.

For those of you first time kayak crabbers, I will plan to launch around 8:30am.

Good weather!! But still... please dress for emersion! anything can happen... Use the buddy system and stay within shouting distance of each other.

Although I will also be on the water, I have a tendency to explore on my own; carry a radio to keep in contact with other kayakers out of shouting range.

When exiting the "Jaws" (the opening/exit to the harbor) stay wide right and watch for incoming boats. Acknowledge boaters as they pass by; this way you will know if they visually see you!

Remember: this is one of the busyest days of the Harbor; there will be boats coming and going all day. Try and stay out of the main boat lane as you exit the harbor. Once you are past the jaws, head towards the beach area.

And take a moment to observe the boaters as they come and go from the harbor, you will notice they travel along a certain lane (from the Jaws to the Green Can); this is the area where you DO NOT want to be placing your crab pots

Also, watch the swells coming from the reef on the right just as you exit the Jaws; sometimes that can get pretty big!

Lastly, if you want to fish (rockfish season is still open) bring a rod and some gear; there is a mini reef by the Red Bouy, which is just south of the first green can and within paddling/peddling distance of where we will drop our pots...

You mention Friday night chill/party. Should we bring food like a potluck get together or is it more like just a hangout? I'll probably just drop by fri night and come back the next morning since I live so close. See you guys out there.
