I just finished reading through all of Aaron's posts.  I recommend it to all of you guys.

We have such a unique community here.  I never met Aaron in person, but we shared lots of friends and a passion for this sport.  I see close brothers, Etienne, Alex and Sean, were highlighted in Aaron's posts - hang tough, Guys - you're in my thoughts.  I read so much in Aaron's posts about honor, camaradarie, and sportsmanship.  Even though Aaron was manager of MBK and a certified guide who caught tons of awesome fish from his yaks over the years, I never knew him to be arrogant or capitalistic about the sport, the resources or the friendships.  This was a Man who lived the sport like many of us hope to.  I hope we can all reflect on this and that it will help us to continue to diligently strive to do the right things and to support each other.

To all my friends on NCKA:  I love you guys.  RIP, Brother Aaron.   :smt010

Aaron's words:  "NCKA, the people and experiences it has brought into my life are a blessing.I am living out lifetime dreams and you are all a big part of that. Let's keep doing what we love! "

I was hoping we could wait until we got the real story about what happened and why...before sharing this extremely sad news w/the rest of the community. So, please try not to pass judgement or jump to conclusions before we get the real story. This is a very sad and unfortunate situation. That is all I can say at this moment. Thank you.

I first printed the message below and then realized that this might seem premature while people are still mourning the loss of an NCKA brother. I am so sorry to hear this happen to a man who obviously was a great member of this board and touched so many people personally. I never fished with him that I remember, but those vouching for him tell me he was one great guy.

I didn't mean to diminish the tragedy in any way. We lost a few brothers in arms when I served because we just thought they'd shake it off—because we saw them as they were not what they'd been pushed into feeling. I posted the below with the best of intentions.

If anything good can come out of this it is this: depression is real and dangerous and can happen to most of us given the right set of circumstances. So if you or anyone you know shows signs, get them treated—ASAP. It's natural and human to become depressed sometimes and not shameful but some people need help dealing with it constructively. These are tough times and more people need help than in recent memory. Friends and relatives need to be vigilant when there are troubles—vigilance and action can save lives.

R.I.P. Aaron. What a Total shame. Please everyone out there, I'm sure  that along with myself there are many members out there that care enough to listen to anyone that needs a sounding board. God knows, nobody should take my advice, but too just listen so you can vent or just let it out.

+1.

I played soccer with a guy whose life ended in the same manner and while it might seem easy to pass judgement, you can't unless you're walking in their shoes and I'm pretty sure that none of us were.

RIP Aaron!  :smt059

I went to MBK yesterday to get a new seat and see how Aaron was doing.  He had mentioned the passing of his Mom and having lost my Dad in November thought I could talk to him.  I have fished with him for years, last time a few weeks ago.  A true gentleman, friend and fishing buddy.

Shark_bait had caught a nice fish and this quote is how I will choose to remember him:

"We are a Brotherhood and Nathan is our rising star.We are proud of him"

RIP brother.
