While the comments on depression are perhaps useful from a public health standpoint, I think, unless there is more information available than I'm aware of, it's premature conjecture to assign cause to this tragic event.  As a psychiatrist, I would say that depression alone is an inadequate explanation.  Regardless, in honor of Aaron, I think it's best to refrain from speculation regarding cause or motive.

Only met him on the water a few times and of course asked his opinion at MBK. He could talk in detail about techniques and fishing/ kayaking equipment suppliers on a level few here will ever match. That man could really fish   catch.

Peace be with you Aaron

We will never know exactly what was going on with Aaron and why but we do know the tragic result.  Tragic is the key here, he was loved and admired by many.  Whatever may have transpired last night is irrelevant to the positive memories and past experiences we all share with him.  Here is a photo I left at his house today with some flowers.  This is how I will remember my friend.  I hope that we can honor him in a manner that is appropriate for one of our own.  A paddle out in his memory comes to mind.

You are a class act sackyak. Thank you.

So many great photos posted, but then Aaron always did make it easy to get photos of him holding up big fish.

Not sure what to say...  I didn't get to spend a lot of time with Aaron, but the time we did spend was quality time of the highest order.  He struck me as a mellow guy, and consumate waterman.  He had a definite air of competency about him, without the pretense that sometimes comes with that.

RIP, brother.
