Brian, Thanks for the tip. This is an excellent option!

I know James and Craig are heading down there Friday. If they can get a site at Kirk Creek for backup, a few people can be distributed to sleep there. We can still party at Limekiln. How far Kirk Creek is away from Limekiln?

Craig and James, can you help to secure a site at Kirk Creek for backup? I PM you two for help.

Eric

Pat and I have decided to make a day trip of it on Saturday. I was able to reserve a campsite for Friday night only.  If anyone wants to make use of it, please let me know by this Friday (the 28th) or I will cancel it for a refund.

Looking forward to seeing all those yaks on the water on the 5th!

A couple words of caution given many of those going are newies to this area. First, the rock fish season is not open right at Limekiln and north toward Lucia which is the usual place to fish from this launch site. The open season area begins just south of the big Limekiln rock. (Latitude 36 I think)

I was looking at the campground from this website and it listed the location as N36 00.03.  Is the big rock you are talking about pictured here?

The regs do say 36 00 00 is the northern boundary of that region.  So we can basically hang a left and start fishing?

I'm planning on heading down either Saturday afternoon and staying the night if there is room or just heading down early Sunday morning.  My offer is still open if anyone wants to carpool.

Yup.  Lat 36 is 757 feet Southwest of Limekiln.

There's going to be a sizeable south swell this weekend, so mill creek will probably be the better launch since it' faces due west.  Hopefully pt lopez will reduce the NW swell at mill creek.  Due west is the worst for that launch.

Sounds like Limekiln is going to be a happening this weekend!  I'm headed down with Kim and Dave, we have 2 spaces and room for one vehicle and tent.  If anyone would care to join in, please pm me so I can confirm the spot to you.  Our reservations are for Fri, Sat and Sun nights, will be arriving Friday afternoon.

I am going to be there also on Sat. AM and may try to spend Sun. nite there also, if there is an available campsite.  I am going to bring my scuba & WSB free diving stuff with me in addition to fishing gear.  If anyone is interested in fitting in a dive, let me know.

I'll try diving.  I'm also carpooling with a new kayakfisherman that I've poached from cencal.  I think he'll dive too, but the more the merrier.  :smt003

I'll also bring scuba gear, I've seen some fabulous photos of big sur coral and rockfish.

I will only be there saturday.

As far as I know there aren't dungies of significant quantity south of ano nuevo.
