How is Edgewater in terms of cleanliness vis a vis State Park.  It sounds like they have enough room to accommodate but would we be spread out or is there the possibility to congregate in an area?

Free is nice at County Park but based on previous posts in years past, it doesn't sound like it is as clean.
you are correct.......County P. is/was unkept,,,and that was 7+yrs ago. = worse now :smt012

Last year Edgewater was very clean - warm showers, clean bathrooms.
Campground is very nice and we would all be close together.  Very close to easy launch.  Many spots to have the BBQ/awards.  This is a good option if CSP is not available.  Check out their website for a view of the resort area.

here is a link to M&M from catfished. Its also in "the oaks" and can be a little sketchy but there is solid fishing in the rattlesnake isle area.

We will be on the water tonight but before it gets dark we can take pictures of edgewater and post them if it might help with a decision.

CL-kid is right about the water. Kelsey creek is already green and reasonable as are most of the other streams and Cache creek is pumping like Ive never seen before. Both are good signs. I realize you cant make solid plans with just that info but there may be hope.

The county park is day use only, and for being free it is a great place.(no camping)

P.S good fishing in this area

When we stayed at Edgewater last year we had a great time there. The bathrooms are clean. The grounds were nice. Now I cant attest to how the drainage is there after some serious rain fall like weve had. The grassy areas might be saturated as well. That is where the campsites are. We paddled from Edgewater to the springs and all the way to state park. Fishing all the way. Lots of docks around and nice shore structure past the restaurant going NW from the dock at Edgewater. You can roll from any campsite in the place to the ramp/ pier. Other places to fish are a close drive also. Buckingham peninsula, Shag, Konocti.

Weather was great in the land of the lost, so we headed over to edgewater early and took a few pictures. We tried the office, to make contact and see about reserving an entire area, but it was closed. Sorry guys.
One of the pictures shows how far the wooded southern point of the state park is. I hope these pictures help those who are going to decide.

Well after talking with Darius & Terry, seeing the pics, and hearing others comments.
Darius or myself will be trying to hook up with the edgewater and nail something down.
If we can contact and make arrangements with them than that seems to be the best option.
I will post as soon as I get a deffinite confirmation (hopefully tomorrow).

Thanks for all the patients and understanding,

Wow, Edgewater looks pretty nice by the pictures.

Terry I think you guys got out on a really nice day. The Bijou looks a little too comfortable, I wish I was there to mess with him. It sucks to live five hours away from CL on a day like that.

And by the way, I think you were being a little sneaky when you told me, "oh I only got one little one." It looks to be chunky and in the +22" range? The guys at the tourney are going to have a great time by the looks of that fish!

Agreed! Looks like a perfect place for a tourney. Are there camping spots available or are there only cottages for rent?

they have campsites. Im not sure how many.

We thought the same thing today.  you were missed.

I didnt weigh or measure, just the photo doc and release.
It was my only fish, but all I needed. simple pleasures

If the warm weather continues the tourney and THE bite may be on a collision course.
hope

Mooch, they definitely have camp spots available.  Just a tad more expensive but the place looks nice and I have no problem paying a little more for some quality.

Darius & Eric,

It says they give discounts for groups of 10 or more and I'd have to imagine we have close to 2 dozen willing to camp, if not more.  Maybe they can upgrade us by giving us the Gold and Silver Sites for the price of the Standard Site.  My group, consisting of Jeff/Barefoot1, my brother-in-law James, and myself, would be willing to sacrifice and take spots 60 or 61.  :smt044

Thanks for all the patients and understanding,

No, Eric, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!  I think I speak for all of us when we say we really appreciate everything you've done.
