Thats a great idea John. Eric....... John, Jim and myself stayed at Edgewater last year for a weekend and it was a great place. We did in fact paddle over to state park to fish and ran into Juan that day.

Thanks for the concern Dilbeck but all is perfect at home and our calender is packed full of adventures that WILL be documented.  Sometimes avoiding "circumstances" is the wiser path.
Maybe next year we can make it.
Im hoping you guys get into some monster fish and this years winner photos something FAR larger than last years winner.

Ben I understand totally,
If there is a 2012 series (a lot will depend on the outcome of 2011),
I will probably not be traveling so far - I'm starting to feel the effects of aging. :smt005
Maybe just a single "SUPER WEEKEND EVENT" with multiple organizers
Maybe try to have an all time attendance record (Think of it like the Woodstock of Kayak Fishing) :smt044 :smt044 :smt044
What do ya think?

Make it a Friday to Monday event! That would make long dive well worth it  :smt045

the Woodstock of Kayak Fishing

I like the sound of that! Perhaps provide free demos and clinics on Friday. Do a Saturday tournament, Sunday will be the food fest party day and Monday will be the chill day  :smt002

Mr. Mooch,
We seem to be on the same page here :smt006
The more I think about it the more I'm liking the idea.
I will start sending out feelers about this idea and see what happens.

I talked with Laura at Edgewater campground and she says she has plenty of spots avaiable for camping and our group BBQ if this is the way we want to go. COuldn't nail down any discount but it does seem like a great option to have at this point. Feel free to chime in on this so we can make some reservations if needed.

Edgewater is a little pricey, I found 20 oaks near clear lake keys they have a very good price but I am waiting for everyone to chime specially Eric (Yakhopper) lets see what he has to say...

45 mins from the Tourney 1.5hrs round trip I might pay a little more or maybe daytrip it.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

I'm with you Mike as I'd definitely pay a little more to not have to travel so far.

Although, he could always move the start/weigh-in location to wherever we camp.  That would be much more convenient for the group.

Darius and I have been talking and here are the scenarios
1. we have the event at State Park and everybody finds there own place to stay. (No group site for party)
2. We move to Edgewater ($35-$45) per site and only 2 people per site + charge for day parking.
3. We move to 20 Cottages More for a cottage but up to 5 per cottage + $10 per vehicle for day use.
Any seggestions ?

1. This would be worst case scenario for me.  I mean part of the fun of NCKA is hanging out with the crew.
2. This is more than I thought but would be willing to pay for it.  This would be my second option.
3. Not sure that I understand option 3.  Is 20 cottages More the name of a place to stay?  How much is it per night?

Unfortunately, since I'm not from the area I don't know of any other places to stay.
