Mooch, they definitely have camp spots available.  Just a tad more expensive but the place looks nice and I have no problem paying a little more for some quality.

Well after talking with Darius & Terry, seeing the pics, and hearing others comments.
Darius or myself will be trying to hook up with the edgewater and nail something down.
If we can contact and make arrangements with them than that seems to be the best option.
I will post as soon as I get a deffinite confirmation (hopefully tomorrow).

Darius & Eric,

It says they give discounts for groups of 10 or more and I'd have to imagine we have close to 2 dozen willing to camp, if not more.  Maybe they can upgrade us by giving us the Gold and Silver Sites for the price of the Standard Site.  My group, consisting of Jeff/Barefoot1, my brother-in-law James, and myself, would be willing to sacrifice and take spots 60 or 61.  :smt044

Thanks for all the patients and understanding,

No, Eric, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!  I think I speak for all of us when we say we really appreciate everything you've done.
I will for wait for Eric's confirmation...then I'll go from there..if its a discount group...between individual reservations...Last time I spoke to Laura only 2 person per site and additional $5 per person..If she agrees to have max 5 at no extra charge per person then I will reserve for everyone interested in otherwise will be individual...Thanks and sorry guys if its going to turn out individuals

Did anyone seen the weather report? http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/95453

Just got off the phone with Edgewater and they seemed verry happy about us comming. We are still waiting for a final word on the parking fee (day use) but all else seems good.
We will have our after party there as well as be launching from their beach.
For directions or camping reservations check out their site:

Please call ASAP to make your reservations so as to help things go as smooth as possable for our group and their staff.

Thanks again for all the patience and understanding,

Just a heads-up people, prepare to leave a message.  I've called several times and have yet to speak to live person.

Scratch that.  I guess the 3rd time is a charm.  I spoke with Loretta and nailed down site 61.  We're a little ways from the rest of the group but right on the water's edge, or should I say Edgewater.  :smt044

A little steep at $109 for 2 nights but we also had to pay for the extra person.

Stick to buying and selling Kayaks  :smt005
Sorry Darius but if I didn't say it somebody else would thanks for your efforts. Anybody want to split a site or have one to split Sat nite do they have a 2 night min?
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Quote from Loretta, "Because you have a kayak, you don't need a mussel sticker."

Apparently kayaks are incapable of carrying mussels which is good news for us. :smt002

Loretta said she would talk to the owner to see if they would offer us a group discount.  I believe their website said groups of 10 or more so I hope they adjust our bills.

do they have a 2 night min?

Don't think there is.

I'm booked for a site on Friday and Saturday night I won't get there until late on Friday night. Tried for 60 but it is a non tent site since its concrete. I booked for two cars and 4 people. Not sure which site number they are giving me but she said we were going to be grouped up with other kayakers.

This event will be at Edgewater Resort
http://edgewaterresort.net/rates.html#houses
Unfortunatley the State Park has been Flooded and even if the water subsides by than the mud will still be an issue. If you were planning on fishing that area it is still just a short paddle/peddle to that area but in all fairness we need to have all anglers launch at the same spot.
I know the cost of day use is a little steep ($10 P.P.) but without inspections or launch fee this is still reasonable. Also if you are camping they will include day use for Sun. and they will let us use the swim beach as a launch site and give us the gathering (BBQ) area for free as well as let us check out by 4pm. Their insurance mandates that they have a staff member on duty prior to opening for day use so she asked if those comming up for the day plan on not getting there till 6:30 am.
I know we are used to a little more freedom but with limited time this is still the best option and I look forward to seeing you all there on Sunday.

Thanks again for your understanding,
Eric / Yakhopper

P.S.
Be sure to tell them you are with the Kayak Group when you make reservations
