Cant tell ya how many hours i've spent prepping for this weekend  :smt003  But i'm finally done sorting all of my tackle, deciding every lure and dodger combination i'm gonna try, tied all the leaders, picked all the lures, prepped all the rods, reassembled my crate
[

Nice job Al , I thought the same thing at ALbion last year but that all went out the window once I finally got out the gate and started fishing those waves were so big it took a long time to get back any feeling for a while. :smt078 It still was a great time just fishing kinda didn't work out as planned. Hope things work out better for you.

Did anyone figure out the camping situation? I haven't chimed in because I was hoping for ab dive weekend but I'm not diving in the forecasted swell. I'll see you guys Saturday morning.

I haven't book. But here is what I have found

Pleasuse Cove has spots. they are $30 per night with a 2 night min. 707-966-9600

Solano Co Park (which seems closer) has spots for 15/nt (2 night min) but on some literature is says the gates open at 8am. Which would be a problem for a 7 am launch! I tried to call but only got a machine 530-795-2990.

I am going to end up crashing at a friends place in the area. If that falls through I may camp. So keep me posted (I will keep checking this thread)

I don't think so E.  First of all, they're put and take, and second, they're pretty fragile fish and unless one really knows what their doing, they'll just end up releasing fish to die.

Did that make any sense?

yep...I am keeping what I catch! non bass wise that is! Look at me, like I'm gonna catch fish!

This is a very touchy and legal issue with this lake in general. That's why we have not called the Berry Slam a "tournament" and it's a "hook-up" or a get together between "friends"

1. You are showing up on your own to fish with friends!
2. You are not competing for a prize.....but we all do want to see your fish you caught and how big they are.
3. Our BBQ is a potluck and prize drawings thanks to our gifts donated to us for free.
4. Have fun, be safe and catch some big fish.

I read it,,,,and FULLY UNDERSTOOD IT = it is a HOOK-UP , NOT A TOURNAMENT. tournaments cost money and we dont have money for that.
THANKS FOR ALL the HARD WORK!!!

Standard Yakhopper disclosure for not calling it a tournament. No Problem  :smt002  Cant we just call it a BBQ/Potluck  :smt003  Fishing is entirely OPTIONAL  :smt044

As for Solano camp. It's been many years since I camped there, but when I was there. They lock the entrance gate at night after they close, but you can leave anytime you want. They have one of those "don't back up or it'll blow your tires grates" So if someone was there Friday they could get out as early as they wanted. Just don't plan on going back in until they're open. Don't know if it's first come first served tho.

That's good!! Because my agent advised me that if I compete in any tournaments, I will lose my amature status; however, he also stated that acceptance of gifts under $1000 from any vendors will not be an issue. :headbang:

The only tournament I know about is with the Christian Bass Anglers Fellowship.  It's even posted on their website.  Me, I'm just looking to go out and catch a few salmon. :smt002

Yes, but your CPA states that you must report all gifts as income. :smt003

Pablo, you got room for 2 for Friday night only? Tiny and I would like to split the cost with you if that's ok.

Be WARNED! Joel has an itchy trigger finger  :smt067

If you do decide to take in this felon and his side kick "Tiny", you may be in for a few welts  :smt009

If you hear him say anything like he "loves you", be WARNED: He may be ready to pull the trigger!!!
