I too never fished for Kokos or in-land salmon; but I read alot on the forums, talk to fellow fisherman and checked out a thread under General Fishing Tips: http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,28954.0.html  that's where i got all my info. Also the have a kokanee section at Outdoor Pro Shop which makes it real easy to shop for tackle.

Read up and let's learn together!!!

Even though this is primarily a shake-down cruise for my kayak, I still want to drop a line and see whats out there.

After all my research, here's what I am bringing to the pond:

Ricci, so you mentioned using google maps to become more familiar with Berryessa and I've done that.  Google is telling me that Markley Cove is the launch ramp on the left of the picture underneath the zoom out sign but it seems too small with no buildings.  It seems more likely that Markley Cove is to the right of the picture underneath the "Ter" in Terrain.

Can anybody confirm this.  I don't want to get lost and lose fishing time while I'm trying to find the place.

Michael I think you are too far "west" Markley Cove "Marina" is what you are looking at. Markley cove "Resort" is to the east where 128 tuns south away from the lake itself. I think the launch is at the "resort"...Ricci can you confirm?

Jedmo

Jed, the hoochies, assains and wedding rings lures, plus some of the dodgers are new; but alot of the gear I already had from hunting trout, salmon (ocean) and even halibut in the past and based on intel, looks like the will work for kokos.

Actually I think I'm bringing too much gear; most likely I will end up questioning my decisions.... I should have stuck to my originally plan I just bought 2 main setups with backups and that's it..... I just keep reading the forums and buying more $h!t......

The parking lot looks kinda small. There are 60+ participants on the list, and then there are those Bass tourney people. There ain't gonna be enough space to park. I hope the park rangers don't complain if we double up on those trailer parking. I counted 16 normal parking spaces only. What's the alternative for parking?
