"The 1st Annual Berryessa Salmon Slam"

When: Sat. Apr. 2, 2011
Where: Markley Cove Resort @ Lake Berryessa
Time: 7:00-1:30
Potluck and BBQ Lunch: 2:00
Award Ceremony: 2:30
*This is a Free Entry Event*

Gary and I decided to Host this Event at Markley Cove. Markley Cove is a great location for this event. Markley Cove has Porta-Potties and Floating Bathrooms, and an easy to get to cement launch, so wheeliez and carts are not necessary. Markley Cove and near by Dam area is a great location to fish and holds a lot of Kings year around. There is a $15 per vehicle launch fee tho. :smt009 If you can, we recommend carpooling as this will keep each participant(s) cost down.

Salmon Slam Rules
*1 Kokanee and 1 King Salmon only to  be allowed to enter
*The longest total length of combined fish will determine the winner for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. For example: 1 koke @ 15in. and 1 king @ 18in.= 33in. combined length
*In the event nobody catches both species of salmon, winners will be determined by longest fish, King or Kokanee
*Catch and Release catches are OK but must show photographic evidence with fish being measured on a very accurate hawg trough or some accurate measuring device. Keeping the fish is recommended due to poor survival rates after a release. We recommend bringing in your catch to be measured. Also keep in mind that winning measurements could come down to 1/10 of an inch! A lot of these fish here are around the same size.
*In the event of a tie, a coin will be toss to determine winner
* All rulings are final by Gary or myself
* All entries must hand in a signed waiver of liability form before launch

Potluck and BBQ lunch
Will we be providing a BBQ lunch with beverages, but please fill free to bring your favorite potluck dish or case of beer if you wish! :smt003 The more the marrier! Bring your own chairs. Extra tables may be needed but I'll let you guys know later!

Contact me or Gary if you have any questions.

Sounds great look forward to hopefully hitting this but why the first weekend of ab season  :smt010 Got to wait and see what condition are like that weekend since I love to get those snails on opening weekend.. just a yearly thing to do. Will try to hit this if conditions are rough on the ocean.

YOu know what screw the abs! Let's go fishing! Now we need to figure out where the FishNChilL will be staying? Lake Solano or is there camping here?

Thanks john for the offer, we'll let you know later down the line. But thats also why we put up the potluck too. We'll have a grill or two already there so anybody fill free to bring whatever if you want to grill something. Camping is avail. around the lake but I recommend camping down below the dam on highway 128 @ lake solano just before you get to Markley Cove. This is the closet C.G. and probably the cheapest. Plus, the campgrounds are rite on the creek and i heard offer some good fishing as well in lake solano. http://www.co.solano.ca.us/ I will post a Potluck Thread soon!
