Is the Shark Derby just for good times, or is there prizes for this event? Not that I will win anything, just curious.

I have a couple of fish hook ornaments I'll donate to the cause of "good times"!

The derby is basically for fun and braggin' rights :smt003 with a few donated prizes.  If you guys wanna raise the stakes a little and make it a MBF (money between friends) derby, we can build a prize pot with $5 per participant.  Just let me know.

Piscean --- Your Fish Hook ornaments are "off-da-hook" (sorry, I couldn't resist) :smt003

Porky --- anything you or others can donate would be much appreciated!

As for the derby rules, we should just do a catch, measure, photo, and release format.  We can also relax the rules a bit to allow for assistance in measuring fish and verifying length.

Oh god please....Them things are a PITA to hold. I can't imagine holding one, measuring and taking a pic. That may be a three man operation!
