These guys have always made me smile....at home, while driving, on the water, running, working out, or even just wasting time at work lol. Wanna smile too? Watch these videos.

funny......that's what i listen to now= classical and jazz

but i went through alot of different places to get here....back to the basics. :smt002
What, you don't like rock? FROMbrothersWITHcolors!  you'd be surprized to know who's been inspired by these people, from heavy rock to hip-hop.

once i heard this song,(in the dark&stoned) it was all i needed in life.
If you got the time, let it play, you will want to get stoned first, the next time you play it.........Guitar starts at 2:ish. His name is Michael Hampton and was 16 yrs old when he was discovered by the Master. the song is called MaggotBrain and was orginally played by Eddie Hazel(who fell to the good ol' Heroin)

the original version: played by E.Hazel

I got a buddy that's down with D as well. Sounds like crap to me.

I made it in 6 minutes total, so 4 minutes of that dude's guitar solo, and.....good guitar soloist for sure but.....any song that is over 3-4 minutes long has to be more dynamic, see ie:below, than that. Would have made it through with a six pack though.  :smt005

Ie: "Meltdown" by the Brownies. Worth a listen. All 8 minutes. Brace for crazy sax solo in the middle.  :smt002

Let's see, one of the first albums I ever bought was Iron Maiden:

But as I got into high school I was into more of the industrial music like KMFDM and Ministry:

By the end of high school I was really into Primus and Red Hot Chili Peppers:

In the Marine Corps I started to mellow and broaden my musical interests including jazz, blues, reggae, whatever. I think it was in these years I got into punk more and really got into the Dead Kennedys, Jello Biafra, and Mojo Nixon:

In the military I met a lot of people I normally wouldn't have gotten to meet and got into a bit of rap too. I'm not super knowledgeable about rap, but one of my favorites at the time was De La Soul:

After the military I went to college. I kept branching out and got into classic bluegrass and folk. One of my favorite collections is a two album set called Appalachian Stomp. I also have the American Anthology of Folk Music, which Rolling Stone called "gansta folk":

I think one of my favorites is still Pete Seeger:

Today I listen to a mix of all of it. When I want to get pumped I listen to punk and metal, when I want to relax I like the folk and bluegrass, when I'm in a good mood I've got rap. I just looked at my iPod and figured out what I'm doing the most of lately: Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia/David Grisman (Shady Grove), Sum 41, Mojo Nixon (still listening to the Moj), Pharrell, Kanye West, and Tool.

That's the band! My wife hates them but it might be because I blast it as loud as it will go when I'm working around the house.  :smt096

you two are making my sooooo proud!  :3some:

Funky?  did you say FUNKY?!
Funkadelic was the acid rock band, but after JamesBrown lost his horn section and bassist, they founded another group, on a different record label, but the same members, add the *HornyHorns and Bootsy and you get the P-Funk=(pure funk)
Listen and learn!  the bigger the headache?the bigger the pill!!

Loved these guys.
This album is from 1972. Wishbone Ash kicked some serious ass back in the day.
Very popular in the UK, they didn't get their due in the US.

Gerry Rafferty has that feel good sound that's nice after a good dive when you are drinking a cold one.

I went to high school in Vegas in the 80s and this Triumph video gives me goose bumps. Those were better times than I can describe.
