Oooh, the good stuff...

I too saw the BHS many times in the 90's, and I've never been the same.  Words fail.

But I'm a bit mellower these days and that salsa stuff is gooood.

Not trash at all in my mind.  Check out this song call 1401

not trash i said THRASH as in, "it was a Thrashing, repetative beat"

that second one was way a different style than the first song....but i need more bass and swear words.

i don't have time to search tonight, but can probably find something for ya.   :smt003

BTW, i meant thrash not trash.   typing skills lacking today.

Buhdee, we need to go on a loooong roadtrip together and i'll play some stuff that will give you nightmares.

.....which takes me into the next phase! i worked with a bunch of rockers that ruled the warehouse radio. I was forced to listen to crap like this......andIlikedIT!

watch & LISTEN to this one: it will either make you cry, or get you piss'd!
i do a bit of both.

this was another favorite.....these guys grind their axes hard!
CorrosionOfConformity was a NoFluff band....straight to the head!

OK, so please make sure you laugh.... the very first concert I went to in the 6th grade was NKOTB (New Kids on the Block) I was deeply in love with those guys, but mostly Jordan Knight.

Mooch- if you really want to get in on with the ladies I suggest you listen to their Step by Step tape LOL yes it is a tape not a CD.  :smt044

Moving forward the first REAL show I saw was The Black Crowes during their High as the Moon tour, I think this was 7th or 8th grade, Jr. High for sure, and I was hooked. Southern Rock Rules! It's whats currently in the car right now.

From there it only gets better, as my dad started letting me listen to his cd's it was all about Led Zeppelins Physical Graffiti and Houses of the Holy, Canned Heat, Steve Miller, Hendrix, etc. and then of course as you know the Grateful Dead. All my friends started hating me and then a few trips later started loving the dead too. Had a love affair with Neil Young and then discovered Jerry Garcia Band  :smt007

During this time I was still a teen so was into MTV and all the awesome "alternitive" music coming into popularity
Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Tool, where's those memory pills? Who am I forgetting? I loved it all.

Now we haven't even delved into what Im listening to recently... saving that for later

I remember listening to Three Dog Night... CCR... The whole british invasion thing... Loved James Taylor (was sing "Sweet baby James" to myself the other day)... Jim Croce... The Mamas and the Papas... TJ Brass
...Chicago.... all the way up to now.  Lots of truly gifted musicians through the years... but what gets me through is Gospel music... old hymns..."Amazing Grace" ... conteporary stuff from Steven Curtis Chapman, C. Tomlin, M. Redman and Mercy Me...etc.

I Love good Harmony

Gue

Sara~ :smt005  NKOTB?!  you were so innocent then.......WHATtheHELLhappened?

Gue~ we must have had the same radio station on back then. Those are LEGENDS of our times.

.....but i wanted more out of music now. So I looked for more than just catchy rhymes and beats.

Funny story, way back in the day (ok, like 1995) I went to a House of Pain concert. They were good, but the opening act stole the show...I had never heard of this band with a funny name called Rage Against the Machine. And I'm still rockin their tunes to this day. Too bad Zack went all incognito like Dave Chappell. Speaking of Chappell, my wife was at a Erica Badu concert in Berkeley 2 wknds ago and he came out to hype the crowd and intro Erica Badu!!? She said he looked & sounded the same. I miss him... :smt010

Hopper~ that Eminem vid was very moving.....never knew he spit about that stuff.......that B.Lamont guy said too many bad words.

Eric~i could see/hear the resemblance= NOT!
RATM was straight out of Compton.......(ok, maybe the Bass player was from the Vanila'Burbs)

SC~ heart warming story......guess WHAT? Zac came back and the band is putting new stuff together. They have alot more "material" to be pissed-off about.
