BLOTY-heads, rise and shine.  All of you who signed up (don't make me hunt down the initial thread I will), pls post up:

1. your initial weight
2. current weight
3. brief summary of what went right/wrong

Just got curious after reading Time and some recent blurbs about how diet is the major weight loss factor (not exercise)

BTW, there's still 65 days until Halloween.  Plenty of time to get in shape and rock the 300-style spartan wear.   :smt044

I've lost 19lbs in seven months right before my long vacation trip to the Philippines. Sadly, I gained 11lbs back in such a short period of time. Oh well, it
was worth it all. I'll just have to work at it again.

I just couldn't lose weight despite exercise. So... that means it's my diet. I like cocktails, cheese, and bbq too much. I'm still working on it though. On the plus side, I've gotten to be a better/stronger runner despite the lack of weight loss.

I read an article yesterday that summed it up nicely. Exercise improves health, but doesn't result in significant weight loss. Dieting reduces weight, but doesn't significantly improve health. You got to do both.

I started at 196 lbs, dropped as low as 192 lbs, but I'm currently 194 lbs.  :smt006

started at 286.5 stalled at 277 about the time BLOTY thread ended.  Kept at it, and currently 269.

I exercise a lot for a fat guy.  Mostly bicycle, stair climbing, walking and some stength training.  (trying to preserve my knees)  My doctor kept scratching her head looking at what I ate, how much I move and how little my weight responds.  Tested me for thyroid and other stuff.  Im fine.

After stalling at 277 forever, I eliminating any starchy carb after lunch.  Dinner is salad, two types of veggies and a chunk of lean protein.  That started the weight loss again, slow but steady.  My new found ability to catch halibut has helped a lot as well :smt004

I haven't done much other than had an economic "push" toward less beer :smt010.
I ate & drank my way through the fire evacuation as a stress reliever. I walk daily but I haven't paddled in weeks.
I started at 203 in the spring, & now have been holding at 196 for the past couple of weeks. I hit a low of 194.8 just before the Lockheed fire. I feel great though :smt004.
I expect to lose a bit of weight during my backpacking trip next month, at least until the requisite "end-of-the-trail-pizza feast".

Started at 194.7 and was 166.6 this morning.  Still holding off 28.1lb.  Only gained 1lb on my trip to the Philippines, despite lots of chicharone and red horse...  Don't know how that happened, though there was one day where something caused the emergency lights to turn on and everything in me to evacuate from the nearest exit...

I've pretty much been keeping my weight steady around this point for the last few months, but I still weigh myself at least once a day and base my dietary decisions on that information.  I think the most important thing I did was eat fiber 1 bars for lunch instead of soup (chili, chowder...) or pizza from the cafeteria, which saves about $1 to $1.50 per day too.  I've been keeping that up, it's much easier not to eat when you feel full.

My scale is still on the boat, so I haven't weighed in for almost 2 months. I suspect it will not be good news when it finally arrives, since beer is the national drink of Wales and I have been heartily embracing the heritage of my new nation.........  :beer2

I started at 277.8 and am now at 267.4 - I too am about ready to go for round two.

I lost resolve for awhile, too many out-of-town trips, family gatherings, etc. You want excuses, I got 'em lined up.... :smt003

Should maybe have round 2 start in Nov, to keep us honest over the holidays.  ;)  Might be a least gainer competition though...
