Sean~

Where are the attachment points on the boat for the sling?
I saw the two on the transom but where do the other two attach?
Are those points specifically designed for a sling launch?
Sorry for the seemingly ignorant questions but I am completely ignorant on this subject.
I always thought that the straps went under the hull.

I've been in that exact spot before Sean. I found a killer deal on my dream boat in perfect condition with a Yamaha outboard but I ended up wussing out because it was old enough that I knew there would still be issues and a new outboard was way out of my price range.

You would be smart to get a montauk because they will run great on even a 50 or 60 horse outboard which you can find for 5 to 6 grand. You made the right choice to wait untill the perfect one comes along. You will know it when you see it!

Another cool boat to keep your eye out for is the 16' Radon center console. They are a really sweet little boat that unlike the montauk is self bailing with a couple of big old scuppers in the back. The montauks will drain if you pull the plug while you are under way but they are not truly self bailing.

Good luck on your search Sean! Sometimes the looking can be almost as fun as the finding.

That's how it goes.  Having some discipline with such a purchase is what differentiates a guy who owns a boat from a boat that owns a guy.

Since you aren't getting it may I be so bold as to inquire about the asking price?

Wow, well said Erik. Not that I know boats so well, but I agree, with something like this you have to know when to say no.

With the little knowledge of boats I do have, I'd also say a Bayrunner or Montauk would be a great choice. The search continues - Happy hunting!

Hi Sean:

Radons are "HighLiner Boats" and, the Hulls retain their value. Even POS
Hulls are worth a lot of money to Uni Divers. The down side is you need a lot
of money to fix them up and, Uni Divers use the hell out of them before they sell them. I worked as a Uni Tender on "Spike" in Albion and there're one fast Boat! I not at the Pwr. Boat stage in my life but, I understand Boat Fever.
I would plan on a new Motor, Controls Etc. and a used Hull but, you knew that already! :smt005
