Cool boat I have stepped foot on the dark side as well.  My boat isnt quite as seaworthy as that but it can be towed to the coast easley and will still get plenty salty 21' Valco Baja Bayrunner.   I wish you good luck.   I still like fishing the kayak but sometimes you can do things in the boat that are a pain in the yak.

WOW, livin' the dream!

That boat's a 'beaut Clark!

Wow, Sean!!!  Let me chime in and offer congratulations and like Adam I am kind of scared, (and excited)...  Knowing the kind of man you are and the skills you have...  how you've been a pioneer in this sport...  and now you have the boat that will take kayaks to places only dreamed about...!!!

And I agree she's absolutely gorgeous.

Farallones mothership trip?

Sean, Congrats on your new acquisition. I always dream about a mothership, your livin it so enjoy. I ran mothership trips from San Diego to the Coronados for a while and the boat was a dive boat but we laid the kayaks sideways from port to starboard and carried six. Your set-up looks like it can carry 6-8 no prob. Just gotta get everyone into the cab. A step board off the stern makes for really easy launching. The freeboard looks a little low for going out to the 150 nm range but if it's fished albies already it's good to go and probably very fuel efficient. From now on you'll be captain SBD or skipper SBD. Fair winds and following seas on all your endeavors

So what vintage is this Radon, Sean? I am certain that when you are done it will look at least this nice . . . not including the "special" equipment!

They only fished it out 30-60 miles out.  While I here you on the freeboardits standard on a Radon 24 and these things are legenday for their seaworthiness.

Paige and Elsie are just too feeble to be yak fishers on the salt for some years to come.  They are going to love this thing.

Yeah, yaks in salt have that problem: they're not too kid friendly.  I had a 17' boat when my kids were younger.

The amount of freeboard on and Radon is almost a moot point.  They're sealed hulls, so all wash on should scupper off fairly well.  My urchin diver friend up here has converted one of the holds to a hot tub that takes water heated off the manifold.  Sure is great after a cold dive.

WOW! When is there going to be a work party weekend? I can spray Imron or whatever coating you want. I could give you 8 hours of time. You are right , its ugly as hell. The potential overwhelmes the negatives though.
